This was as the assistant was being sent down the tunnel. Joey O would be proud of that trollface.

Anyone hear Chelsea saying their winner last season shouldn't have counted as that was offside? No? Shocking.

Adrian had stopped anyway.

Was nice to see MOTD focus on us first.

Andy Dunn from the Mirror just said on Sunday Supplement "How do we know the goal decision system is right? How do we know that's not over the line?" Nearly spat my coffee over the telly.

That would never have been questioned at the other end.

I saw that too , it was part of the reason for my sulk on Sicknote's ' Mourinho ' thread .

OK , I can understand the sentiments behind it , but rules are rules and if it wasn't a goal , it wasn't a goal .

What a fantastic day. I was floating coming out of the ground last year after beating Citeh and Liverpool.

This year flying - Le Arse, Liverpool, Citeh and now Chelski.

Champions League do we dare to dream COYI :crest: ,

giantsteps wrote:I also notice Chelsea fans are crying about the Fabregas offside / not offside.

I had a good view of it and from what I made out Adrian didn't even attempt to save it. A bit silly really, but I can't recall if the ref blew the whistle before Fabregas took the shot.

Needless to say, if he'd of been given onside I don't think he would of scored it. Adrian would of made the save imo.
Yes, Adrian had undoubtedly seen the flag and made no effort to stop it. So impossible to call it a good finish into an open net.

The goal-line and offside decisions were close enough to have made just about any manager to feel hard done by.

The point with the goal line tech is to end the argument.
The whole of the ball has to have crossed the line, it's simply the parameter set .
In tennis any part of the line
In cricket the whole of the ball hitting the stumps.
It's quite straightforward and somebody ought to point it out to Andy Dunn

Agreed - which then makes it an excellent bit of defending by Lanzini - something else that none of the "Jose Media" will acknowledge in a hurry.

Yup, but impossible to make an objective argument that either was wrong.
