Main problem may be if Swansea play their usual slow possession game and we don't get up a head of steam. Up and at them from the off. Sakho plus Carroll.

I'm just going to say bring in Byram and push Antonio forward because it seems to be a lucky talisman.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Swansea: match thread
This *should* be the easiest game of the season.
They're officially safe, travel poorly, the manager is leaving so they don't even need to keep up impressions for his sake, we haven't lost to them since 2011, and Carroll gets some change out of them even when he's out of form....and this time he's in-form.
We have a fully fit squad for the first time all season, haven't lost at home since August, have the European incentive, it's the last Saturday game at the Boleyn, and will have only played one game in the past 17 days.
All of which adds up to the exact type of game we've tended to struggle in this season....

Can you imagine spanking them 7-0. One final hoorah in the sunshine on a Saturday.fjthegrey wrote:I reckon we might win 7-0.

It's all set up for us to absolutely smash them to bits. West Ham with a fully fit squad gunning for Europe, Swansea *ahem* swanning along nothing to play for.
Bound to be another drag 0-0.

If so, it will be their first win since their only ever win at UP in 1936arlhe wrote:Certainly seems set up for a Carroll fest and a decisive home win.

Match thread on page 2, 48 hours before a game that is critical to our chances of qualifying for Europe. Wow.
I think we have plenty enough to beat Swansea as long as we don't take it for granted. I'll go for 2-0

Yes, answers please...ChzMff wrote:The biggest question must be where the pub crawl starts?
After years of being a Hammers supporter abroad, I'm boarding a flight from Canada tomorrow evening to make the pilgrimage to BG. I can't imagine being "West Ham Til I Die" without having experienced a day at Upton Park. So it's two 20-hour travel days to spend a day-and-a-half in London, but I need to stake my claim to being a pre-OS supporter.
Got the songbook memorized and team shirt packed (19-Collins, if you need to know). Any guidance on the best place/time to start the day would be greatly appreciated!
Pretty good chance I'll spring for a pint if you pick me out of the crowd!

Re: West Ham Utd vs Swansea: match thread
Looking forward to this.
My first ever game was against Swansea early 80s (a 3-2 win after being 2 down iirc) so (barring a miracle in finding one for Tuesday) quite fitting that this will be my last.
