WHUISA - WHU Independent Supporters Association

Post by Big George » Mon Jan 02, 2017 11:24 am

First of all, thanks to the boss for letting us start a separate WHUISA thread away from the supporters club one.

I just thought I'd let you know that the West Ham Independent Supporters' Association website is up and running at http://www.whuisa.org/

We'd really like to get as many people as possible involved because numbers will give us credibility. You can join until the end of next season for the price of a pint and we'd love to see as many KUMBers on board as possible. U18s can join for free

For those who are new to this, we want to establish a democratic, transparent, independent, non club owned voice for fans to give honest input into the way things are run.

The aim is to eventually create a formal channel of communication that really represents fans but that doesn't rely of the patronage of the Board. We had the SAB but I don't think anyone thinks that did the job we hoped it would. If you depend on the club management for your position on any fans organisation you can't be truly honest. The club will always have the option to exclude you.

We want to be positive in trying to change things to make supporting West Ham a more positive experience. We want to be inclusive and constructive but we won't shy away from telling the difficult truth if we have to.

West Ham is the only PL club that doesn't have an ISA or Trust. We have met with supporters' groups from other clubs through the FSF and they have had amazing results.

There's been an interim committee set up but once we are established we'll be looking to get many more people on board. If you want to get stuck in sooner let us know at enquiries@whuisa.org. We need volunteers before the Palace game.

There's been a lot of you doing amazing work on behalf of the fans, particularly people on this site like Romford and UtJ. KUMB has been a brilliant force for good for West Ham fans and I hope you can support what we are trying to do.

The more we have, the stronger our voice will be :crest:

Thank you Big George for starting this thread and have signed up as a member of WHUISA.

Point made above by George is very true, WHUISA is there as an inclusive and welcoming association for all and will act as a representative organisation of its membership and not just a few.

Hopefully it may mean we can host one of the directors so they can see what the match day experience is like for real fans

Joined yesterday. Would love to see more done by the club with regards to away travel and I know I'm not the only one, hopefully we can now have a voice that will actually be heard.

Thanks for this. Should I have received an email confirmation for joining or paying the membership fee as I have received nothing?

I got an email from paypal when I joined. Do you want to email enquiries@whuisa.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and we'll try to confirm that you are onboard

Cheers

Thanks BG,
I have the paypal email, I'm just used to organisations acknowledging signing up and/or receipt of payment. ;)
