Gold is clueless, I wouldn't take too much notice of what he says.

Edit: That said the stupid old **** shouldnt be airing these sorts of comments.
Causing quite a stir on Twitter, yet more good press for West Ham.

Typical expected comment from the old cronies himself. Couple this with the fact that Slav only attended one u23 match last season kind of says it all. Typical and predictable, Declan Rice should be starting tomorrow, personally think the board will want a win at all costs to boost our league position and get some extra cash for a higher placing.Thing is, it won't be spent on players or stadium enhancement and thats the bit that knaws at me the most.

I see latest predictions for our finish this season will mean a payment from PL prize money and TV money will be £118 million.... if we stay 12th

Though that could increase to about 122 million down to 110 million depending where we finish tomorrow...

Basically it's

85 million (standard flat fee payment to all PL clubs)
Plus
15 million (for facility fee for matches shown)

Then depending where we finish add

11th 20 million
12th 18 million

Or less

16th 10 million

Each place is worth 1.9 million

I wonder how much of that has been spent through 'specialist finance' since the new TV deal was agreed season before last?

And more importantly how much is assigned to the budget?

Barkley would be a brilliant signing. Highly unlikely though.

I've been told today from a reliable source that we are very interested in and are highly likely to sign Amari'i Bell from Fleetwood Town.

If Masuaku is off to Roma for a tidy profit, then reaching down for Bell would be good as a back-up to Cresswell. Cresswell has had a bad year, but he will be better next year.

Wasn't BFS after Bell in January?

I just did a quick check on value they had it at 400k? Doubt that will be what's paid if we do though...

Rather than blowing up cos David Gold has had the audacity to say it is difficult for teenagers to get game time in the Premier League, I've just had a look at Squad minutes in the PL this season and it hadn't actually occurred to me that Valencia has spent more time on the pitch for us in the league than Sakho.

They have our second best player in terms of average rating as Carroll (behind Payet). The next best rated striker is 22nd of 28 players - Sakho. All other strikers are below, Calleri then Fletcher as bottom two.

To further illustrate how hampered we are by our collection of strikers - whilst Carroll may have done well, he's played 1314 minutes. Sakho, Zaza, Valencia, Fletcher and Calleri combined have played 1740 minutes.

5 of our 7 lowest rated players have been on the pitch longer combined than our first choice striker - contributing 2 league goals between them. Collins has got 2 goals in around 200 minutes less playing time.

Our whole team has to attack as we're so bad at it, which to me is the main reason our defence is disorganised: they are so stretched and with the whole team sharing the goal scoring load they are also not protected.

Be a big mistake selling Masuaku, don't think he'd look out of place at any club in the world.
