My Mrs also made a sarcastic but interesting comment tonight - around the 70th minute mark the tv camera's panned in on Sullivan in the directors box and she said "what's he doing sitting there - he should be in his office phoning Rafa Benitez"

I couldn't really argue with that - she did have a valid point.

Is a new manager going to help our players actually find each other with a pass over 5 yards, or mean that the recipient of the pass doesn’t have to check his stride? There were so many misplaced passes out there tonight. When Brighton got the ball they were sharper and more decisive about all they were doing.

And no-one, literally no-one on the pitch seemingly capable of geeing the team up, giving anyone a bollocking, or having a semblance of independent thought. No one wanted it.

The buck will stop with the manager. But those players need to have a ****ing word with themselves.

Been home about 20 minutes thinking about what to say on here... I still can’t think of anything...

I’m absolutely dumbfounded at just how bad we were... The manager has got to go for me, I can’t see a way back after that. I’m just gonna finish this large gin and go to bed.

We need a holding midfield player alongside Obiang and Kouyate at CB. It's one thing Pinky mentions a lot, and one of the things I agree with him on. Obiang has always prospered being able to get that little bit further forward.

That was as abject a performance as I can recall. We have been as bad but not worse on over 50 years of going.

Ayew did quite well when he came on but there is something wrong in the state of Denmark.

Obiang has been much better than Kouyate this season and was again tonight. I agree that some of his passes go astray as he's trying to make things happen - he was the only one looking for slide rule passes to split the defence tonight .... everyone else thought it was a good idea to put a stream of very poor crosses into our 5'7'' forward line

There's a bloke who plays for Portugal who would work next to Obiang a treat....william something or other

That was 4-2-3-1 with Hernandez up top - just like the first three games - with Noble and Rice.

We've lost 13-2.....

This team and these players most successful identity is when it is unashamedly physical and solid with three CBs.

Lanzini is the only above average footballer in the team - which is why Brighton smothered him and constantly worked to close angles down on him.

One thing Bilic probably can't be blamed for. He wanted Willy and the Porn Kings didn't deliver.

I can see it now it won't be long before the Allardyce years are fondly talked of as the good old days.

Don't play as a team , always looking around to find someone to pass to , zero movement , some suicidal passing in dangerous areas , zero vision, zero movement , can't defend set-pieces, can't cross, uncomfortable on the ball, legless again at about 75 mins. Arnie said he was 'ill' and I suspect its nothing physical which is a big worry for our most expensive signing (wonder if we did a psychological check before we bought him?). We are shockingly poor and its going to take a monumental effort to turn things around before we become relegation fodder.

I cant get over how so many, so called good players can all play so badly, so often at the same time, we are slow taking throw-ins, then normally backwards & into trouble, we eventually get to their box then pass back to the half way line, then it goes sideways a few times then back to keeper to hoof it, we play long balls when Carroll aint playing, Henandez wont win any of those balls, we cant pass 10 yards to feet, no movement up front, worst of all no desire to change, Bilic will get slaughtered for tonight but the players must take some of the blame, they are stealing a wage at the moment. Oh well the spuds on Wed's, that will be fun

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

That was an utterly embarrassment. Brighton had a game plan and were hungry to execute it. I (like most games) am still sat here trying to decipher Slav's tactics. A sheer lack of movement and runners and a 'pass to Lanzini and see what happens' game plan which was remarkably similar to the failed 'pass to Payet' plan Slav attempted last season.

In the first 45 minutes, Kouyate played at CB(Or DM), CM, AM, ST and RW. Only got Slav to give up on him all together and replace him with Ayew, completely neglecting the fact that Antonio continued to be poor and also injured.

If he hadn't lost the players earlier this season, he must have now and I don't even blame them.

We have good, exciting players playing in an absolute bull**** non-working system. If it's demoralising for us, it must be for them aswell.

Awful. Awful Football, stadium was dead.

Another game you can see the complete lack of intelligence in our squad.

Sit back and we confuse ourselves to death. Wouldn’t name one player who played well.

He's been injured on and off all season. Should have came off instead of Kouyate who missed his chance to be shuffled to every position on the pitch in a match....

We sold all our wingers, didn't replace them and had no strikers left to bring on and play out of position

We're doomed then. Not one of them scored over a 5 out of 10.
