AFC Bournemouth 3-3 West Ham Utd (26/12/18)

Post by bowltorious »

Need 4 points out of the next 2 games to reach my personal target of 7 from the mini 4 game run of teams around us. Hopefully we can win this to take the pressure off against West Brom. Lanzini back thank god and hopefully Noble, Antonio to the bench until his attitude improves.

-----------------------Adrian
--------Kouyate----Reid----Ogbonna
Zabaleta---Obiang----Noble-----Masuaku
----------------Lanzini-----Arnautovic
----------------------Hernandez

So happy Lanzini is back for this one.

The other Argie needs to stay back and concentrate on defending.

Another defeat, we’re just so easy to score against. And for how bad Bournemouth have been too this year, they have some decent options up front with pace to cause us plenty of problems

We've managed to provide springboards for Palace and Everton so far this season. And now possibly Newcastle. Can't afford to give another struggling team the confidence to go on a run.

2 - 0 to us

Think we’ll give them at least 3, so will depend whether we can out score them

I’d out Antonio & Kouyate for Noble and Lanzini

id go with this, i know CM area is weak but if we are getting overrun Rice could push forward to make it a 3 ..

with the players in the team there are 2-3 formations that could be employed

Having watched our performance yesterday, we need a bounce back - I have concerns we can’t do that having lost our positive mentality at Arsenal. We sat back and got into old lazy ways having gone 1 up yesterday and they made us pay for lax finishing and defending.
These won’t let us off the hook either, but I never back against us so 1-1 for me.

I'd go with:

-------------------------------Adrian---------------------------

----------------Collins----Ogbonna----Cresswell-----------------

-Zabaleta-----------Noble-----Obiang---------------Masuaku-

------------------------------Lanzini----------------------------------

-------------------------------------------Ayew-----------------------

---------------------------Arnautovic--------------------------------

Subs: Hart, Byram, Reid, Rice, Antonio, Chicharito, Carroll.

Byram is apparently back in training. So he can now be on the bench. One last chance for Zabaleta. Anymore goals we conceded because of him then drop him to the bench for the next game. Collins for Reid, which should've been the defence against Newcastle. The defence was fine vs Stoke. So why was Collins, who was MOTM for some against Stoke dropped for Reid who let his teammates down by getting suspended to miss the game and has hidden away from too many big games this season? Same for Rice being dropped for Kouyate aswell. Although I would just about go for Noble IF he is fit for this game. Antonio to finally be dropped. I wouldn't have Kouyate and Sakho on the bench. They're not playing as if they're committed so why involve them? I would've done the same for Antonio & Carroll too if we wasn't short in numbers.

————————- Adrian ——————————
——— Collins —- Ogbonna —- Cresswell ———-
Zabaleta—————————————— Masuaku
——————- Noble —— Rice ———————
——————-—— Lanzini —————————
——-—— Arnautovic —- Hernandez—————

Players that can pass in the middle makes the world of difference

Players that can finish upfront

And send Reid to someone to sort his head out

Apart from the return of Lanzini the other positives are that the 2 former Hammers - Defoe and Stanislas are out injured otherwise they would be certain to score. After last years defeat need to watch out for Wilson who ran riot last season against us.

For me no Antonio and a start for either Chico or Sakho upfront. Got a ticket for this one COYI

It's winnable and people have massively over-reacted to yesterday's result, imo. We lost by one goal (missing a penalty in the process) and this is a much easier game for us tactically as they will have to come on to us.

We'll be able to play a deep-set back 8 and we've seen through the games between Man City (a) and Arsenal (a - league cup) that this is the easiest bit to do.

Lanzini behind Arnie and +1 to win the game with the other 7 sitting 30 yards from our goal all game in front of Adrian.

I never fancied us against Newcastle, but I do here. :scarfer:

If we'd lost to Chelsea 2-3 and beat Newcastle 1-0 everything would be more rosey

Defoe hat trick 3-0 to Bournemouth

For me it depends massively on which west ham turns up cos these days it seems the million dollar question. I just hope its the one that rolls it sleeves up a plays with a bit of pride cos. Bournemouth will be confident of turning us over again, like many they see us a soft touch and I am serious :crest:
