I can see it now, Sulli offers a Buffon a deal on minimum wage.
"We tried for Buffon and we worked really hard but we just couldn't do a deal, time was then running out and it was impossible to find value for money, but we're delighted to announce Jamie Ashdown as come out of retirement and signed a one year deal".

Not saying we should sign him off the back of one game but Lee Burge in goal for Coventry tonight was quality, really good shot stopper, came for plenty of crosses, look very assured, only 25, would be available for peanuts, well worth a punt I reckon. May not pay off but for the cost would be well worth it

Once described [ and not by his Mum ] as ' Most gifted player of his generation ' when at Chelsea , he now plays for Amiens FC in Ligue 1 .Monkeybubbles wrote:quote="bubbles1966"]Linked with Gael Kakuta.[/quote

Here's a piece from ' Four Four Two ' about him -

I think that’s basically what Burnley did with Nick Pope isn’t it
Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 83 days remaining
Think they signed him when Charlton got relegated for about a million, again at that value well worth a punt. Think it is well worth looking at the lower leagues for a backup with the potential to be more, worth cost the earth.Patito wrote: I think that’s basically what Burnley did with Nick Pope isn’t it

Definitely, at the very least could provide competition for Adrian or whoever is number 1 next year.

But MP seemingly chose to loan him out twice. Doesn’t look like a manager’s favourite exactly ...bubbles1966 wrote:Prolly just because he's employed by the Chinese team that Pelligrini manages.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 82 days remaining
Right now? Honestly no. It's one thing to keep Juves goal of late with high calibre players throughout to compensate, but if thrust into our side on a regular basis, I'd rather go with Adrian.
That said, if Buffon is up for supporting Adrian and being our No. 2/FA Cup king Keeper used sparingly due to his age, I'd be more than happy to have a real winner amongst the squad set-up. He always did say he'd love to play for our Club some day and would love to see it even for a few games. Could imagine it helping to attract some better players if they see him here crowing about how great West Ham is. It would raise our profile.
I wouldn't want to run the risk of ****ing off a decent Prem Keeper whilst we've got one for a very short term fix just as Hart proved.

I would go for Carvalho and Mario in midfield. They work well together for Portugal and I would like them in before the WC in case they have a good one. Then just a speedier midfielder purely for rotation.

My No.1 pick remains Thomas Partey from Atletico.
We should invest a club record fee, and then some, and get him signed.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 82 days remaining
whoever comes in we need to sort the defence and midfield out
CB RB DM needed for a start
I hope we play 4 at the back with two DM in midfield. should help Adrian or whoever is in goal next season.
would like us to add shaquiri to our midfield/attck
arnie lanzini ashaquiri behind a mobile striker would be great
4 - 2 - 3 -1
need the new manager in early to get the deals done.
Mario in for 20-25m would be a good start. tidy technical player who is improving every game for us .

To be fair, if you take away the name value, Buffon has been on the decline since 2014/15, just he was protected by the worlds best defence, it's a complete non-story anyway.

And why should a man like Buffon want to demolish all the self-confidence he's built up over so many years by playing behind our defence?fmgod wrote:To be fair, if you take away the name value, Buffon has been on the decline since 2014/15, just he was protected by the worlds best defence, it's a complete non-story anyway.
