This 1990 stuff on the bbc just makes me sad. It was ours to lose and we did.

Poor old Gazza on tv.
He's not going to make old bones.

Wolf, I remember from 86 onwards as well.
I guess I just think England should be a team that makes it to more QF, SF and Finals than they actually do.
We have always had the players, but I think the managerial appointments in recent years, picking players on reputation and who they play for and the fact the English Press loves to try and hinder us at every given chance has made it harder to do so than it really should be.
Now we are in the Semi-Finals cue the English Press coming out with stories that will disrupt the team. Hope I'm wrong about that and I am glad Southgate before the World Cup started called them out on it.

Wright just left the set in mid segment saying ‘I’ve go to go. I’m going to go drink beer.’

If the press do that they deserve to burn in hell. That won’t stop them though.brothernero wrote:

Very annoyed with myself for not really getting into this. Overchuffed for the very decent Mr Southgate but...
I'm not excited. Why? Is it because it's West Ham or noone? Would it help if AC had nutted that one instead of Alli? I think so..
This is massive news. Semi final???! Maybe I'm just dead inside.

Sir Bobby said if we'd won that semi-final in 1990, we would have won the final.
With Gazza banned from playing in it, I'm not so sure. He was our most creative player, by far.
Although completely different players, it would be similar to playing this semi-final, without Kane, although not as bad.

If you are English, then yes you are. It would be wonderful if we had 2-3 hammers out there but we don't. Still magnificent times to be English, embrace it.Jon wrote:This is massive news. Semi final???! Maybe I'm just dead inside.
