Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 30 days remaining
We (as fans or board) either stick our trust in Pellegrini, or don't. If he wants rapid wingers being fed by Yaya and Wilshere, then we need to believe he knows what he is doing. Honestly, I'm dubious of where the money is coming from, but don't hate it when it's spent on the managers choice of player.

I'm not talking about not backing the manager, He has my backing. Doesn't mean I can't have big doubts about signing a 36 year old.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 30 days remaining
You've agreed with every decision all of our managers have ever made?
If Yaya signs I'll support him. In the meantime, he's not a player that appeals to me anymore. That doesn't mean I don't support the manager. It's an opinion. There's nuance to football support, as in life. One differing opinion does not flip the switch on whether you are a supporter, or not a supporter.

So the positives on Yaya are that he'd be coming in on a free and he said that he'd take a significant wage cut to keep playing in the PL (I remember he said he'd play for a quid per week or something, though that was obviously him being facetious)... and he can still sit back and ping balls forward. We just can't ask him to run much.

That was me but I had no idea he was Stratford-bound.EastleighHammer16 wrote:I can't remember where i read it (it might of been on here) but i remember reading something about someone knowing a headteacher and Yaya's kids had just been enrolled into their school in London or something.

Signing Yaya would make as much sense as selling Arnie.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 30 days remaining
That's what concerns me the most, if the Manager wants him so be it I will accept his judgement but at a time when we need to gel the new players and create a stable professional and focused environment this seems like pouring petrol on bone dry scrub with a forest fire raging the other side of the hill. You can't see it and It might be perfectly safe but who would bet against the sparks flying at some point and it all flaring up. As if the media and clowns like Durham haven't damned the club enough as dysfunctional do we need this risk.Alan Pardew's Dad wrote:Please god not Yaya. Old, moody and not a team player.

I fear the extra cost of Anderson is perhaps having Consequences elsewhere.

Ok he's 35 but he's still very much a strong , powerful player - however , there's no use hiring an expensive player for the odd cameo role , he's got to be involved for 38 matches plus cups , is he up to it still ? If so , bring him on - if not invest the money elsewhere .

Nah to Toure but if he comes here on an appearance based contract then sure, why not. Could be the difference between us winning a cup game or not.

I know he isn’t a young player and absolutely is 100% the wrong sort of player we should be signing.... but there were moments when we were chasing shadows and he was in the middle of the pitch looking like an adult and all around him looked liked kids... that was only a few months ago.

Hi from Australia...I think the signings so far have been awesome and if he also wants Toure in we have to back his judgement him !.
I think this signing makes sense, someone who can come on and make an impact... to play a role or to teach the younger squad players what it takes to reach the top .
He won't be on huge wages... how do I know ?, remember who our owners are
Love reading this forum everyday and can't wait for the season to start !!

That's true TOMOS. Of course the same could be said of Glenn Murray.
