And, if Andy Carroll’s injured then I’ve got an old hoover in the loft that I was going to take to the tip on Sunday. For what Its worth though, if Pellegrini was ever considering Reid or Carroll as a) integral and b)reliable then he really is past it.

What it does mean is that we simply cannot sell either of Arnautovic or Hernandez now without replacing them.

I don’t think, even if they were fit, many people would have had them down as starters for the first game of the season. Subs at best now, when/if they get fit.

Something that has worried me since day one. Chelsea's "scouting department" is a team of people that wait for deals to get set then comes in and offers slightly over asking. It's a shameful practice and one that cannot be excused as coincidence due to the fact that they seem to do it to at least one club every summer. They did it with us to Batshuayi and I'm sure they've at the very least considered doing it again with Anderson.

I think in theory there is still some negotiation with Lazio but the fact that we are going for the medical reveals we will cave in in we have to. It’s possible he could get nabbed but hopefully he won’t want to let Pelle down.

So should Anderson sign either tomorrow/Saturday and the centre half I imagine we'll wait to see what the market does before we sign more right? If we sell we fill the gap (depending on how the youngsters fair up this pre season) then maybe look at loans? It's all a little overwhelming
