no 'supported as a boy' eitherLucas Perez on joining West Ham. “I’m very happy to be here at such an historic club. West Ham have great fans and play in an amazing stadium, so to sign here brings me great joy. I’m very motivated.”

Great signing. I wonder what his key passes stat is like, and how he compares to Messi?

tbf that is a very good signing for them and the way the playjastons wrote:Fulham have just spent another £27m on Zambo Anguissa
He is the sort of player i think we could do with. A real powerhouse in the middle of the park... but probably doesn't suit a Pelligrini team where the onus is on possession and phases
However, I am one of the only people who has positive expectations for Sanchez as a short-term 'sit in and get in the way' type of player

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- Deadline day
I would agree with you on that score Crouchend. I think that his pedigree speaks for itself and his shocking performance at Villa, which I remember all too well, didn’t do the player justice in any way shape or form. I think he will be exactly what we need. I would expect him to share duties with Rice in a kind of 5050 split across the season
There are better out there but fewer in the context of what we want and I spend and the quality we still expect... Hopefully we’ll be proved right in our optimism

Wolves are on the verge of signing Leander Dendoncker from Anderlecht

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- Deadline day
Rice’s role is an interesting question.
Many are saying he is too inexperienced to be relied on in CM and he should not be thrust into learning that role when it would seem either Noble and/or Wilshere will be his partner(s). He is not going to learn that role (or any other) sitting on the bench.
If he is to develop either at CM or CB and not just become another player with eternal potential but no real product (Oxford to date for example) he has to play regularly. That has been Oxford’s biggest problem, even with all the loans he has barely played double figure first team games in the last 2 years. At least when Cullen went on loan he played making it easier for him to progress and all to judge his development. If Saed plays at Malaga those in charge will be able to see how he handles a proper competitive environment.
If Rice is rated as highly by MP as he is on here (and by me) I would be very disappointed if we kept him at the club to just sit on the bench and play the odd cup game - that for me would be a season of potential progress wasted. In essence I am not saying he starts every game but by the end of the season 2000+ minutes of first team football should be achievable.

more to the point on Sanchez, if MP wants him here and thinks he can do a job, i'm going to trust his judgement.
Doubt we'll be asking him to be the next DiCanio.

I much prefer to look at chances created than assists and that is a fantastic statistic.EastleighHammer16 wrote:West Ham signing Lucas Perez created 79 chances in the 2017/2018 La Liga.
Lionel Messi (87) was the only player in the league to create more.

I’d agree with all of this but 30 odd matches this season would need bolstering so including cups someone exactly like Sanchez to come in would do me fineGsbgsb wrote:Rice’s role is an interesting question.

Did Sanchez cost Villa alot of money? I seem to remember him being a record signing for them or at least the most expensive player they bought that year. Genuine question. I have faith in MP and Sanchez may well be the DM we are looking for just his age doesnt sit well.
