Talk of Cullen going on loan to Charlton Athletic.

My guess is that Toure isn't having a medical anywhere, just his agent trying to keep him in the news.

It's only been 4 games in (including Cup game) and it is already obvious where we are short in the squad and what positions we need to add to in the next 2 windows.

Without even losing any more players we need:

- a centre half
- a central/defensive midfielder,
- and depending on where we see Masuaku long term either a new left back, or player to play on the left. As Antonio is the only one who can play there.

Unless I am mistaken the following players (according to transfer markt) are out of contract next summer, so perhaps we could try and shift some of these in Janaury:

- Andy Carrol (thank god!),
- Declan Rice,
- Pablo Zabaleta,
- Adrian,
- Josh Cullen.

I am sure Rice will be offered a new contract and maybe Zabaleta too as Pellers likes and trusts him. But I will be shocked if Carroll, Adrian and Cullen will be here next season.

And I expect the following players will either be looking for a move, or Pellers will be looking to shift too:

- Reece Oxford,
- Winston Reid,
- Pedro Obiang,
- Jordan Hugill,
- Sam Byram,
- Toni Martinez,
- Edmilson Fernandes,
- Javier Hernandez.

And I wouldn't rule out: Ogbonna, Antonio, Cresswell either.

So this leaves us potentially with the following squad next summer, should we still be in the Premier League:

GK: Fabianski / ? / Trott
RB: Fredericks / ?
CH: Diop / Balbuena / Rice / ?
LB: Masuaku / ?
CM: Sanchez / Noble / Wilshere / ?
AM: Anderson / Lanzini
RM: Yarmalenko / Snodgrass
LM: ? / Holland
ST: Arnautovic / ? / Perez

So we will potentially need:

- GK (preferably a younger upgrade to push Fabianski to the bench),
- RB (IF Zabaleta doesn't get a new contract),
- CH
- LB
- CM/DM (I would even look for 2 let alone 1),
- LM
- ST

If my predictions come true, looks like next summer will still be just as busy as the window we just had!

It appears hammerman has a rival for his title of List King.

Cullen has now officially joined Charlton on a season long loan. A silly move IMO for his development as he has already played at League 1 level and played in the Championship last season. So makes more sense to send him back to the Championship.

League One is his level, he started 9 games for Bolton who barely avoided relegation, to be blunt I think he needs to leave the club, join a League One side with ambitions permanently and carve a good career for himself and hopefully get in the Championship.

Yep, he looks a long way off even being top half Championship level.

Should leave, spend 2 or 3 years doing well in League One then hopefully he'll be good enough for the Championship.

He'll waste his career staying with us.

No Dembele in Celtic squad, maybe he is finally getting a big move, Lyon most logical after Mariano went back to Madrid, be interesting how he does.

any news on reece oxford going on a loan. I would keep him until at least January and let MP get into him.

Cullen - is 22/23 now and not good enough for us. shame as local lad but football is a business and we cant afford to have passengers. Same with noble really, no longer a starter for me.

next summer we will have business to do but not too drastic I hope

Adrian - may leave if he doesn't get game time this season - likely so new GK required
Hernandez - as above so new CF required
obiang - as above new CDM required
noble - will stay as no one else will want a slowing 32 year old noble
carroll - can leave on a free, waste of time.
reid - 30 and injury prone. decision needed. another CB required
oxford - needs a big decision on him and not on loan again, good enough but does he want it with us
zabaleta - end of his 2 years - 1 year extension
ogbonna - may return to Italy another CB required

so GK, CF,CDM, CB X 2 required

Funky chicken ....... brilliant post.

Having just built a squad to give us some depth, you now want to decimate the squad and sign another 20 odd players. Beggars belief.

Only just saw that our old mate Diafra Sakho went on loan to Bursapor in Turkey on the last day of the European transfer window.

Didn't do much in his half season at Rennes and with hindsight it looks like he was a bit of a one season wonder as he didn't do much for us either after his initial burst onto the Premier League scene.

he did alright for us in the limited appearances last season
