Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Selling my dust-gathering PS4 that I really only bought to play Doom for pretty much what I paid for it 2 years ago, and getting my Xbox 360 back off a mate who’d been holding it for me. Have been off sick with a lung infection this week, and it’s been great fun to go through old Gears of War and Sega Rally stuff.

I guess that means my 'All Religion Is Bo**ocks' cake, is now also out of the question..sendô wrote:The £500,000 cake.

All that over a cake that retailed at £36.50.
Of all the problems in the world etc, a 4 year court case over a cake.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Last Wednesday, I gave possibly my worst ever performance at a job interview, for a job in Business Analysis for a fast-growing local Financial company. Didn't expect to hear anything back from them, but they offered me the job on Tuesday after I had left work for the day. I have accepted and, all being well, will be starting on 12th November.
I phoned my Boss to let him know and he was genuinely delighted for me, given that our funding runs out in 6 months.
So this is a Laugh/Cry post because I am leaving the best job I have ever had (Youth Work, Mentoring) after 4.5 years. I have loved every minute of it and have never woken up thinking "Bloody work today" sort of thing. A stark contrast to the previous 9 years of near-constant hell in Local Government. Yet I am finally back into full time work (after finishing my Degree in June) working for a very progressive company on a decent salary (for Hereford!) and career development.
I think my last day might be a bit drunkenly messy

Plugging in an - ahem - repurposed high spec work laptop into my 4k TV and getting Out Run Coast 2 Coast running at 4k 60fps.

Plays brilliantly on a W10 machine with an xbox360 controller. Absolutely butter smooth at 60fps and at 4k it looks sensationally crisp.

Seeing yet another 'motivational' life-meme on FB attributed to Bruce Lee, and someone comes straight up with the same 'quote' attributed to Warren Buffet.
