West Ham Utd 3-1 Cardiff City (04/12/18)
Presuming to start a match thread, but it's only a few days off. Just saw Hoiletts goal on MOTD, got to watch that. We're bubbling now, but there are no easy games (the old cliche). Got to pull clear of the strugglers now!

Re: West Ham Utd v Cardiff City
I just hope we don't decide that the game is won from kick off as we did with Brighton and Huddersfield. Don't do that and I think we have a very good chance at all 3 points.
Same lineup please unless Cresswell isn't fit.

Re: West Ham Utd v Cardiff City
They’re direct, they’re going to be niggly, they’re a throwback to Bolton under Allardyce or Stoke under Pulis.
We need to make sure our effort levels are high and we take our chances.
Keep it tight and don’t let in and early goal, keep hold of the ball, use it well and we will win this.
2-0 West Ham I reckon. Arnie and Snodgrass

Re: West Ham Utd v Cardiff City
This could be a struggle as they'll sit back. But with 3 early goals they might start to come out a bit more and leave gaps in behind that'll get us the aforementioned 5 - 0

Re: West Ham Utd v Cardiff City
Cardiff are in most people's three for relegation so, especially at home, I expect us to win this game.
Having said that, they have picked up a bit of form, of late but I hope we'll be too strong for them.
I wonder who Cardiff-born Sully will be cheering on...

Re: West Ham Utd v Cardiff City
this may be the match to rest zab as we have another on Saturday. question is who plays RB. is it too much to play Johnson ?
fab
zab diop Balbuena masuaka
anderson noble rice Snodgrass
hernandez arnie
suns Adrian Johnson ogbonna obiang Antonio carroll diagana
I would not change a winning team as we need the win. johnson on for zab second half hopefully when we are winning !
a nice strong bench as wellgives us opportunities to change things second half with the palace game in mind.
we need to put the no back to back wins to bed and make it three in a row this week.
we must win this game though and I think we will 3-0 arnie hernandez diop

and Colin tries to get the game abandoned by getting as many of his players sent off.

Re: West Ham Utd v Cardiff City
Great game yesterday.. watched the highlights on sky and MOTD.. cant get enough of those goals.. just good to see the moves finished nicely
we get the feeling it wont be unchanged due to either injury or the fact that zabs cant play as many games as we want (as MP as hinted at)
bearing that in mind would like to see this side
------------------Fabianski
Antonio----General---Diop---Cresswell (fingers crossed hes back)
--------Snodgrass--Rice----Noble
Arnie----------Hernandez--------Anderson
Changes as little as possible from yesterday but preserves Zabs for palace at home

Re: West Ham Utd v Cardiff City
Cardiff were one of Allardyce's first opponents in our dug-out, after we were relegated with Grant at the helm. They beat us on that date, 0-1 at The Bolyen.
Since then, we've beaten them in every match, more often than with a clean sheet to boot!
Here's a clue to our line up in our last match against them:
7 Englishmen
&
1 each from Spain, Wales, Rumania and Cote D'Ivoire.
Anyone going to tell us who played?

Adrian

Collins
Rat (was he Romanian?)
Noble
Nolan
O'Neil
Jarvis
Carroll (or Cole... did we ever start with both?)
So the last Englishman either Cole or Downing, but have a feeling this would have been before Downing's time...

My concerns would be at FB, but also Arnie: he is struggling with an injury so will he be able to play three times in a week?

Re: West Ham Utd v Cardiff City
Collins isn't the Welsh representative...
Neither Nolan, nor O'Neill, started the match either.
These ones are right:
Adrián
James Tomkins
Guy Demel
Razvan Rat
Stewart Downing
Matt Jarvis
Mark Noble
Carlton Cole
So, you're missing
1. A CB
2. A pair of midfielders...
Cole and Noble netted.

People predicting 5-0?
That level of arrogance will see us lose 1-0.
They will scrap for 90 mins and make it a tough old fight. I'll be delighted with a 2-1 win.
