Tbf Noble said the same
I think they wanted to highlight Hernandez''s poachers instinct, which let's be fair is valid. He is one of the best at it

To be fair, Nobes was right, the movement to get his feet right for the strike was very impressive. Maybe not so easy on the eye, but still a high quality goal.brothernero wrote:MOTD Downplaying just how good Snodgrass and Anderson's goal was. Seems that Hernandez for them was the better of the three goals. Go figure.

The most impressive thing about his goal was the fact that he was the only player in the box who showed any anticipation.

Hernandez goal was very well taken after he did what he doest best which was to anticipate a rebound. Great goal..
But 2 goals were World class. Motd acted like they were "yeah, not bad"

Why, it’s almost as if they were desperate to move onto the thrilling 80+ goalless minutes of the Arsenal game.brothernero wrote:Motd acted like they were "yeah, not bad"

Honestly Brothernero, I don't know what you watch MOTD!
Whatever they would say about west ham you would pull them up on it!
There were three good goals, they focused on one and repeated the other two commenting on how good they were!

I couldn’t give a f*** what MOTD say about our games or goals providing we keep quietly moving up the table winning games.
I had a fantastic day.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Crystal Palace: match thread
Got caught out by what could have been a well worked free kick with Tomkins heading on for Crystal Palace to score then again towards the end our defence gets caught cold for Schlupp to score with a well placed header , we'll learn from those mistakes hopefully .
After they scored first I thought Palace defended well , I've seen it said that perhaps we showed a lack of urgency but I thought Palace defended in numbers and we found it hard to break them down . If you can't break them down then try a few long range shots and that's exactly how we equalised , brilliant stuff from our hardest working player and a just reward for Robert Snodgrass , it's the reason we bought him in the first place . Our second was quite similar to Crystal Palace's first , defence gets caught flat footed against a free kick - great goal though , harder than it looked . What can I say about our third that others haven't already said , it was sublime , the ball bobbles up nicely and Anderson hits it so sweetly and passes the ball free-kick like past the diving Hennessy .
Onwards And Upwards .

Tbf I was only being light hearted so no need for that
However it seems that no one else has a huge problem with the West Ham MOTD coverage this week

I did say at the time in this thread that his finish wasn't as easy as he made it look. The ball was a little below knee height with the keeper on the ground and trying to get as high as he could. Hernandez had to hit up on the ball to get it over the keeper but keep it under the bar.

Yeah, I thought at the time I could see that shot being missed, lucky for us it dropped to one of the best poachers in the league. Great movement by Pea though, no luck there.Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote:I did say at the time in this thread that his finish wasn't as easy as he made it look. I agree with the analysis. I mean what can you really say about the other two goals other than "he hit that really, really well"? Everyone can see that.

I thought at times our football was exceptional and at others exceptionally sloppy. The Anderson finish was sublime but the passing beforehand was just superb. We got ourselves into great positions with quick one twos and overlaps in the wide areas but our final ball, particularly in the first half, was shoddy.
Zaba was excellent. He never stopped trying to get forward to support the attack and in the main, played Zaha well. He showed all his title winning experience at the end to see the game out and at the same time, wind up the petulant Palace diver. Snodgrass worked his nads off while Noble dictated; the turn to beat two in a tight space showed his bravery on the ball. Rice was again top drawer. His defensive work is great but for me, it’s the quality of his passing, both short and long. I thought it was one of Hernandez’s best games for us and was a tad disappointed to see him go off. He was the only one who moved for his goal. And then Anderson. You sense the anticipation when he gets on the ball. Early days but it’s startkng to feel a bit like that last season at Upton Park where I felt we could beat anyone... I’m sure I will regret saying that when we lose to Fulham. This is West Ham after all!
I am a little concerned with the goals we are giving away, particularly as I think 4 of the 5 regulars at the back (keeper included) have been good this season.

a great match and result. we are being entertained and the players are putting some effort in.
not sure why Hernandez was taken off for diagana who looked a little lost. maybe to save Hernandez as we have a lot of games coming up.
MOTM rice followed by snoddy and Anderson.
zaba was great too.
the atmosphere is getting better as we win more !
