Can't understand why plenty of ours were singing Jingle Bells after the goals. To me it's only to be sung when you are in the closing stages of the game and the win is more or less certain.

My view might have been skewed somewhat this evening from being sat in the Fulham end (on a workmates ST), and observing their crowd virtually giving up after our second, even if their chances didn’t Bubs.bubbles1966 wrote:I felt we looked likely to concede and were struggling to deal with even basic crosses for about an hour, but especially first half. Re: ⚽ Fulham v West Ham United: Match Thread
We weren’t at our best today and relied on Fabianski more than normal, mostly in the first half. Cairney was running the match without too much penetration. Rice and Noble struggled in midfield, and Antonio and a snodgras were ineffective when Fulham had possession but the conditions may have contributed to that. Anderson was world class again. He sprayed a couple of 60yard balls that were inch perfect, and he toyed with the Fulham defence every time he touched the balloon. His cutback for Snodgrass, and his cross for the second were the difference. After the second went in we were largely playing in 2nd gear and it was pretty comfortable in the second half.

Yes I think Watford are going to be a whole different proposition- think that’s got banana skin written all over it.

Possession and huff and puff don't win games, goals do. We were the better team and deserved the win.

Is that not what a lot of us was saying before today's game?Georgee Paris wrote:Yes I think Watford are going to be a whole different proposition- think that’s got banana skin written all over it.
Looks like this West Ham under Pellers is different. Long may it continue and dont forget the Watford win today was their first in ages.

Obiang - 23 touches - 87.5% pa
Noble - 37 touches - 70% pa
not the skipper's best day and a little more energy from Obiang...
great sub from Pellers......not a knock on Noble - just saying that the boss came up with a good sub and we controlled the game better.............of course we were ahead and things are a little better then...still well done Obiang and Pellers.....
other players will have tough days, recognising it and making the correct sub sometimes at the right time works...

Re: ⚽ Fulham v West Ham United: Match Thread
We have pace going forward and real skill. We are a very entertaining team, even split of 50 goals in our games. It is what the fans wanted from MP. I still think we are a mid-table team though, yes Fulham attack well but the clear chances they made with the headers and the one on one were also down to some pretty shabby defending. In this respect we improved second half but were still a little exposed at times, especially early on.
Defending properly is not “Allardyce football” but the hallmark of a good alround side. If we want to challenge properly for the top 6 we will need to improve there as much as going forward where I do believe, especially with a fully fit squad, we could give all but City and Liverpool problems.

If only we could forget all the bad stuff about the owners and the stadium.
We have a very very good squad taking shape

Tbf, I thought Noble was going for some quite precise through balls that didn't quite come off. Pedro was playing safer passes on the whole, at a time when there was less of a need to be expansive, so I think those stats don't tell the whole story.Cuenca 'ammer wrote:Obiang - 23 touches - 87.5% pa

Re: ⚽ Fulham v West Ham United: Match Thread
I did put the caveat that circumstances were different..
however I did think we got a little more energy, Rice played a little better and we kept the ball better...
it wasn't a knock on Noble, I mentioned earlier that I thought he was struggling a little in the h-t summation......
wasn't surprised to see Obiang come on...I'm not a Noble knocker if you read my posts..I thought we looked a little better with Obiang in "at that time."
and I complimented Pellers in making the sub - I think that you are reading more into it than necessary...

This is the point. We will never look completemy comfortable under Pelligrini at the back.e17 wrote:I think those going on about their chances before we took the lead are neglecting how comfortable we were for most of the game from the 18th minute onwards
By the 30th, it was as good as done
Who cares though?
The football we are playing and our philosophy of just try and score all the time is truly superb.
Bollcks to defending
