It just needs JPS down each side on the rear spoiler and on the nose and it’ll be the bestest looking motor on the grid

Could this be another year scrapping at the back of the field for McLaren?

No Alonso to pick up valuable points for them this season.

What the hell is going on at Williams?? Car not ready, valuable test time being wasted...Paddy Lowe up for the sack maybe?

Can't believe them & McLaren are mere back markers these days, used to be virtually unbeatable!!

Just goes to show even the multi million pound sport of F1 has a financial hierarchy. Williams are the Leeds of F1 now.

Mind you, not having a car ready for testing is really poor. The whispers are is that it is a dog as well.

Proper crisis going on there.

You were right. It was Paddy Lowe's.

Seems unsurprising really. When you are the Technical Chief it's kind of your job to get the car assembled on time. For some reason a man of his experience messed up. Furthermore the car looks like a dog.

By the way, does anyone watch Formula E?

Having watched the odd race last year it was a bit novelty, but it's growing on me. Now they can do a race without changing car makes it more plausible.

Mind the last race should have been sponsored by Duracell. The Nissans who were running 3rd and 4th miscalculated their battery usage vs lap count and both ran out of power half way through the last lap. Wehrlein was winning off the last bend but ran out of power in sight of the flag and was overtaken losing the win.

It was a pretty exciting finish to be fair....

There's a series on Netflix called Formula One: Drive to Survive.

It ain't half good.

How the hell Romain Grosjean kept his drive for Haas this year boggles my mind - as does Sergio Perez keeping his seat at Force India over Esteban Ocon.

Such a shame that the amount of money you bring to the team outweighs how much talent you have.

Very sad, right on the eve of the new season too. One of the constants in the ever changing sport and somebody who clearly was extremely well respected and critical for F1.

Was browsing the web last night at work on a break and didn't realize that this F1 season will have only one single GP on free-to-air TV, the British GP. Sky have exclusivity on all other races with C4 showing highlights.
Viewing figures for C4's F1 coverage was consistently greater than SKY's - if you can't beat your competition, take them out of the game would seem to be SKY's modus operandi.

On a separate note, sad news of Charlie Whiting. Quite a character in F1, of which there are fewer and fewer.
RIP.
