Leicester will press us and win the midfield battle. I expect a 2-0 defeat in this one.

I think yesterday's performance was a pleasant surprise to most of us. Unfortunately I can't see it happening two weeks running. Leicester still with a chance of 7th (despite losing to Newcastle) will be too much for us. 1-2 to them. As others have said, it's difficult to see another point this season.

No. Think we'll get point at home to Southampton. We might, if Leicester cannot be arsed, even get a point in this oneBondsoBob wrote:I think yesterday's performance was a pleasant surprise to most of us. We have found our form in the last 1.5 games.
I'm not sure what the result will be, but I doubt we'll see a repeat of the shambolic "effort" that we gave against Everton.

That's what happened tail end of last season when we were in trouble. Had Leics (away) down as a definite defeat but they couldn't be roused and we won. As Bondso says though, they have a reachable target of 7th.Puff Daddy wrote:No. Think we'll get point at home to Southampton. We might, if Leicester cannot be arsed, even get a point in this one
Feel-good from yesterday's performance makes me think we'll win this one.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leicester City: match thread (20/04)
I would go with the exact same starting 11, apart from Hernandez to drop out for either Arnie (if hasn't picked up a 3rd bug by then), otherwise stick Antonio up top. And as harsh as it is on Zabaelta, who to be fair to him proved me wrong and had a solid game against Man Utd I would go with Fredericks purely because Leicester have pacy players with the likes of Demerai Gray, so we need to match them with that. Hopefully he doesn't give another plenary away!
Does anyone know how bad Lanzini is? As we may need to replace him too. The replacement for Lanzini for me depends on where Pellers wants to play Anderson. If he plays him on the left then as long as Arnie plays I guess he'll play Antonio on the right. Otherwise if Antonio is up top go with Diangana. I quite likes Anderson on the right hand side though managing to cross far more on his stronger foot, so want to see him play there again. Especially as he can help defensively for whoever plays rightback and with Masuaku in the team on the left we have a still healthy balance of pace on either side. So he either has to risk playing Antonio on his wrong side and maybe as him and Anderson to keep switching sides. Or to give Holland his first chance, as he plays on the left for the u23s at times.
I expect Hernandez to retain his place in the team anyway as Pellers would argue we played well with him starting. But I personally thought he was our worst players. And we should really be arguing why with all the chances we created we only managed to put one chance away. Hernandez never looked remotely like scoring and Antonio did far more when he was on. He for me is a super-sub at best and an expensive one at that!
My team:
----------------------------------Fabianski------------------------------
-Fredericks-----------Balbuena----Ogbonna--------------Masuaku-
--------------------------------------Rice------------------------------------
---------------------------Noble-----------Snodgrass-----------------------
-Anderson-------------------Arnautovic--------------------Antonio-
Subs: Trott, Johnson, Diop, Coventry, Diangana, Holland, Hernandez.

Think this will be a harder test than yesterday’s game tbh.

I am going to be very hungover for this one, I don't suppose the team will do much to lift my spirits, so I will have to rely on the beer at Hackney Wick and a large Rib Roll to nurse me.
Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leicester City: match thread (20/04)
We are the home team therefore we should expect every decision to go our way. That is my understanding of the current FA rules!!

Any news on the lesser spotted Nasri?
Ideal to slot in in place of Lanzini.

Feel our possession based style will play to Leicester’s strengths. They have improved under Rodgers, so should be a competitive game.
