Lo Celso is very different from Gomes imo. I think Lo celso is much more like eriksen creative and goal scorer. Gomes is much more a controller in midfield imo.

It’s really quiet for us in terms of solid names linked strongly with us. This time last year we started to hear about Fredericks and Anderson didn’t we (I know they signed later)

Maybe we used that 'spin' to force a higher fee?

The Twitter page has been posting 'we signed this player X years ago' posts, the only ones they've posted are Zabaleta and Zarate, so only free transfers.

Not much going on at all, has anyone signed anyone?

Turns to Stone wrote:I can see both arguments for the 'loan' versus 'perm' player. But I don't think it's in any way a stretch to think that a player who was playing for a contract has a drop in form or effort once they have the guaranteed contract.

There's also the factor of being loaned out/not deemed good enough/wanting to make a point etc. Management is about keeping your players and staff performing at their optimum level. That will change whether you're managing a loanee or a player on a contract.

I certianly don't think it's a guarantee that a good loan player will become a good permanent signing though.
I think the clue is about to get the player on loan with a preferenced buy option... thats the right move..

Would make it fairly easy for Mia to decide which player's name to put on her kit for the upcoming season, so there's one positive already.

What a guy...

European Team of the Season: Central midfieldTeji Savanier (Nimes)

Nimes midfielder Teji Savanier was one of the surprise packages in Ligue 1 this season. The 27-year-old excelled in his debut campaign in France’s top tier with his WhoScored rating (7.89) more than enough to make the cut in the European team of the season. The midfielder registered 14 assists, more than any other central midfielder, and netted an additional six times.

Nimes are likely to find it hard to retain Savanier’s services this summer and there should be a lengthy list of admirers for the set-piece specialist. Indeed, the Frenchman made more key passes from set-piece situations (56) more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season. A driving force from deep, Savanier completed a notable 79 dribbles, a fine return from midfield.

His outstanding displays in the middle of the Nimes park saw him return eight WhoScored man of the match awards as Savanier enjoyed a stunning breakthrough campaign in France’s top tier.

Thats THE player we have to sign instead Andre Gomes....

PS: The rest 11 of the Leagues:

A Gomez.

The guy's stats are off the scale.

He's 31 but has 84 goals or assists in 4 years in Serie A.....that's Payet levels

He is categorically not a central midfielder though.

Players are usually still in their physical prime at 31. :)

He's a 10 or a wide player drifting in, imo...but he looks mustard though, doesn't he?

Yeah that’s right bubbs and he absolutely is mustard. Can lash them in from 30 yards with either foot, beats players with ease too.
