Lo Celso is very different from Gomes imo. I think Lo celso is much more like eriksen creative and goal scorer. Gomes is much more a controller in midfield imo.

The Twitter page has been posting 'we signed this player X years ago' posts, the only ones they've posted are Zabaleta and Zarate, so only free transfers.

I can see both arguments for the 'loan' versus 'perm' player. But I don't think it's in any way a stretch to think that a player who was playing for a contract has a drop in form or effort once they have the guaranteed contract.

There's also the factor of being loaned out/not deemed good enough/wanting to make a point etc. Management is about keeping your players and staff performing at their optimum level. That will change whether you're managing a loanee or a player on a contract.

I certianly don't think it's a guarantee that a good loan player will become a good permanent signing though.

I think the clue is about to get the player on loan with a preferenced buy option... thats the right move..
