Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Peroni or Kronenberg 1664 was my layer of choice back then, now I'm reading there's a host of new kids on the block , it's wonderful to hear - I do like a proper pub still even though I stick to OJ and. Lemonade these days , much good it's done me .
Is that sugar lemonade or the diet stuff, TOMoS? Can't stand the diet stuff on its own, though it may be ok with oj.
Having said that, I can't stand sugar lemonade on its own! As a thirst quencher, both types are useless imo & make me more thirsty. Which of course, is maybe their intention...
I love boring, plain water as a thirst quencher. Bit tedious to drink in pubs though.

I went through various soft drinks , mate and got sick of them all , eventually settling for Orange Juice & Diet Lemonade [ enough sugar in orange juice ] - after this latest episode I'm going to review my diet completely , maybe restrict the OJ & L down to one pint per day .

Been off the booze for the last 4 weeks (Doctors orders). I like the idea of drinking beer/lager especially at weekends & social settings so I’ve been trying out low/non alcoholic brews.
Erdinger is my favourite so far, withe Becks Blue a close second. If you like wheat beers Franziskaner do a nice one at 0.5% abv.
I remember back in my unhealthier youthful days drinking around 50 pints of bitter a week.
I can't drink bitter at all now... it bloats my gut like a balloon and I end up with a chronic stomach ache, even after just a pint or two. I just stick to Captain Morgans spiced rum these days.
I've never been able to drink very much lager... or anything else with bubbles as I lack the ability to burp, therefore the gas just builds uncomfortably up. A lot of people find that weird but I'm assuming it's some kind of genetic trait as one of my sons also lacks the ability.

Must be served ice cold.
Ghost ship is good, so is the old speckled hen one. If you like peroni their alcohol free one is better than becks imo.
Yep, Can't do an accidental one, nor a forceful one. It never happens. I was rather hoping I'd get a few 'me too' replies on here so I didn't feel like a genetic freak

Brother-in-law has got the same affliction. But he is a weird f*cker.

Well, from what I've seen, they're intent on turning their pubs into gastro pubs and any pub that had amassed any character, their business plan is to rip the heart out of it and put an emphasis on dining and food.
Isn't that also kind of the plan with Fullers? I reckon they'll do a better job than Youngs though. Went to that newish one in Lambeth the other week and, although it did have a heavy focus on food, the beer selection (cask and keg) was brilliant.
hoping this is still available this week @ The Pub
