History and description
The CASHPOINT Arena, also known Sportanlage Schnabelholz, opened on 1 June 1990.

The stadium underwent various changes in 2005 when Altach promoted to the Erste Liga, which included a new roof on the east stand, an enlargement of the north terrace, and the addition of hospitality facilities.

In 2007, the stadium was renamed CASHPOINT Arena following a sponsorship naming rights deal.

Further improvements to the stadium were made in 2016 following Altach’s promotion to the Bundesliga.

How to get to the CASHPOINT Arena
The CASHPOINT Arena is located on the western edge of the village of Altach. Altach, in turn, is part of a string of villages on the Swiss border south of the city of Bregenz, which lies on Lake Constance (Bodensee).

The stadium lies about 20 kilometres south of Bregenz. It lies right next to the A18 motorway, which runs south from Bregenz and continues east towards Innsbruck, and is thus easily reached by car. Take exit 27 towards Altach.

If using public transport, take a train to Altach station, from where it’s a 30-minute walk to the stadium. Alternatively, take bus 22 and get off at stop Altach Stadion. The journey takes 15 minutes, though buses only run once an hour

Direct trains connect Altach with Bregenz in the north (30-minute journey) and Feldkirch further south (17-minute journey). From Feldkirch trains can be caught to destinations further away such as Innsbruck. Trains run at least every half an hour.

Eat, drink, and sleep near the CASHPOINT Arena
The CASHPOINT Arena is located on the edge of the quiet town of Altach, which has a little over 6,000 inhabitants. It borders farmlands on one side and a motorway on the other with quiet residential neighbourhood in the surroundings.

There are a few places to get something to eat and drink in and around Altach, but it’s a quiet village of little interest and most will spend their time in Bregenz or around Lake Constance and travel in for the match.

There are few options to stay in Altach or near the CASHPOINT Arena, but Hotel am Garnmarkt in nearby Gotzis would be just at walking distance (app. 30 minutes). There are furthermore a few options in nearby Hohenems from where it’s a short bus or train ride to Altach.

However, most will prefer to stay on Lake Constance in Bregenz or elsewhere on the lake. An alternative is the picturesque town of Feldkirch in the mountains near Liechtenstein, or find yourself a quiet little hotel up some mountain side.

On Thursday, the first of two test game highlights will rise in the CASHPOINT Arena.

West Ham Team Cheers
The last international game of CASHPOINT SCR Altach dates back almost two years. On Thursday, 11.07.2019, the team of head coach Alex Pastoor is now at least on test playing level again a real football treats before. Guest of the CASHPOINT Arena is the traditional London club West Ham United. The "Hammers" open the English week for the 90th anniversary of the SCRA, in the context of which on Sunday even the Southampton FC in Rheindorf is a guest.

Arnautovic for 25 million to China

West Ham finished last season in tenth in the Premier League and is currently in Bad Ragaz for training camp. This week's headlines were headed by Londoners Marko Arnautovic. The ÖFB international changed on Monday for the Austrian record of 25 million euros in the Chinese Super League to Shanghai SIPG.

But even without the Austrian national player West Ham travels with an absolute star ensemble in the CASHPOINT Arena. In addition to sounding names such as Jack Wilshere, Chicharito or Felipe Anderson, one of the most sought-after talents in English football is under contract with the "Irons" with Declan Rice. According to the estimates of transfermarkt.at, the 20-year-old with a market value of 45 million euros is the most valuable player in the West Ham squad. Overall, the team of star coach Manuel Pellegrini is therefore 321.5 million euros worth.

Preparation is entering the final phase

By comparison, the entire squad of the SCRA is currently estimated at a market value of 9.2 million euros. For Alex Pastoor is still out of the question that he wants to use the test against West Ham, especially in preparation for the competitive match in one and a half weeks. After Thursday's game against West Ham, on Sunday, 14.07.2019, FC Southamtpon will host the next Premier League club at SCRA, before playing the first round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup on Saturday, 20.07.2019, in Kufstein 2019/20 will be heralded.

Pure anticipation

Great is the anticipation of the English week also among the actors of the SCRA. Christian Gebauer can not wait to compete against the two English heavyweights: " Such games are very special, of course, the anticipation is huge with us all, I think, these two opponents bring a very special atmosphere in the CASHPOINT Arena we absorb, because you do not have such games every day. First Leg stretch of pre-season, stadium looks tidy. Anyone out there wanted to grab me a programme I'd be very grateful.

I'm not sure who is there but i'd be surprised if any of the first teamers play more than 45mins

Imagine we will see a first half 11 and a 2nd half 11, like Pellers done last year.

Already thinking that Johnson should be given a load of time at left back in pre-season.

Cresswell seems prone to little niggles and Masuaku is going to have zero time off having only just finished in the AFCON.

Need to make sure the kid is comfortable stepping in.
