Rory could well make the cut now. One shot needed in the last two holes. Going to save a lot of you...

65 and he still misses the cut. Great effort from Rory but too much of a mountain to climb today I'm afraid. Such a shame.

On a personal note I've had a mare this year, Woods, McIlroy and Day all missing the cut.

I'd be happy if any one from Fleetwood, Rose or Westwood were to win but have a feeling it could be a clean sweep of the majors this year for the septics.

A valiant effort of that there's no doubt, but it all goes back to his first tee shot yesterday. He took an iron off the tee which you do for accuracy, when you want to make sure you're on the fairway. To hook it out of bounds is really unforgivable, to compound the error he put the reload, again with an iron, into the same rough but in bounds this time. He was eight shots off the lead after the first hole.

I wonder if he subconsciously overswung the iron shot, to compensate for the loss of distance?

My mate knows Lowry well. Ive met him a couple of times. Hes an animal to drink pints.
He text my mate on Tuesday to say, we'll be drinking from the claret jug in Clara next Monday night. I have a 5/ew on him at 45/1. His problem is he is so inconsistant. He could shoot 78 tomorrow and 62 on Sunday.

Westwood has always been the bridesmaid...... maybe this could finally be his turn?

I would love to see Lee Westwood pick up the Claret Jug on Sunday. He has knocked on the Majors door so many times over the years it would be great if he finally made it. I'm not so sure he can sustain the level needed for four full days now but to make up for the fairytale that didn't happen with Rory, a Westwood win would be most welcome.

there's some bloody good golf being played today........

great finish on today's tour up the Tourmalet today with unfortunately Thomas losing time.

great crowds and this is shaping up for another day at the tour and a cracking finish to the golf tomorrow too

I reckon our 11-14 shot winning score might be a bit under estimated - although there seem to be a bad weather day tomorrow at Port Rush.

loads in contention

Rahm maybe hotting up ?

12 players within 5 shots at the moment

Lowry was on fire !!!!!!!!!!!!

hope tomorrow he can keep it up.....pleased as punch wasn't he ? American interviewer was asking him questions about today and tomorrow of course and you could hear the crowd chanting for him - how neat for him

The open is always a great watch isn’t it?!

What a last day set up

The final group for me (even without money on them) either of them would be great to see win. Especially tommy

Can Lowry see it through? He was the last person to throw a 4 shot lead going into the last day of a major in 2016 when he lost to DJ at the us open

He has played some fantastic golf so far

Anyone but JB Holmes for me, god he is slow to watch . Can’t stand it

Shame Lowry is so far ahead IMHO
If the leaders had been on -12 then it would be looking like a real cracker of an afternoon with about 15 players in with a chance
Unless Lowry shoots a 75 then really it is two horse race, IMHO

J B Holmes has already ****ed it up and the very first hole. That's him out the equation straight away. Still some way from the hole and he already taken about 7 shots to get that far

seems like the first hole has given them all the wobbles..

can't remember seeing about 5 consecutive golfers hit such horrendous shots - if they can right the ship it'll be a fantastic day.....

seems like an awful weather front is on it's way too.....

Holmes hits a bunker shot that seemed to hit the top of the bunker, roll around the grass and fall back into the bunker !!!!!!

weather has come in and looks awful for great golf but still no one seems to be able to make a dent into the lead........... thought Tommy Fleetwood or Rickie Fowler were going to have a run, Lowry started off wobbling but now seems to be doing well in the conditions and is in fact -1 on the day.

Lowry is playing the kind of golf Rory’s fans were hoping he would play

Yes his swing is technically amazing but Shane’s adapting of shots for links has been brilliant

Koepka pars eighteen, meaning Westwood is fourth and qualifies for next year's Masters

The final round of The Open is one of my favourite days of the sporting calendar and that was all a massive anti-climax in the end

I like a bit of excitement with my golf viewing and that had potential but didn't really deliver

Hats off to Shane

Bit boring but can’t take away from his amazing golf the 3 days before

Ew bets came in plus the one on Shane

Never bet high amounts so walked away with £78.50 after £10 total stake

Can’t complain about that!
