I have a inkling of Anguissa. He is apparently off but no details of to who

By my standards, that's the equivalent of apoplectic.Happyhammer52 wrote: Becoming a worry?

Another day, another signing for Villa.
Marvelous Nakamba is the latest, from Club Brugge.

Think we were linked to him this time last year.S-H wrote:Another day, another signing for Villa.

No excuses for not staying up.chigwells finest wrote:well you cant say they havent backed smith in the market
Bringing in so many new players is a huge risk though.

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
Marvelous Nakamba is a bit different to the other Villa signings in that I think he’s someone who would interest a few midtable clubs - I’m not sure that’s true of anyone else they’ve brought in. Mostly been a case of ‘yours!’ so far.
Similar type of reputation as Ndidi had when he arrived, someone with a good attitude who was considered to be a good chance of success for whoever took a chance on him.

I must have been watching an Obiang from an alternate dimension! The one I saw had a few good games for us in total - but never in succession. It was very clear why he was dropped whenever possible.chigwells finest wrote:i get the sense with Obiang , that he never felt he belonged in the team , he'd have a few good games then dropped . wish him wellhev in Italy
He was indecisive without the ball, often getting caught in no-man's land between two players, he seemed incapable of a ten yard pass, frequently gifting possession to the opposition with a mind-numbing pass, his shooting made Antonio look precise (yes, he scored a screamer once), and he didn't even have much physical presence. He could be wildly inconsistent over a twenty minute sub's appearance. It's not really a surprise no other teams tried to sign him.
Like Byram and Hughill, he just looked lost in the Premier League.

There were a few posters on here expecting similar levels of spending to last year, they are going to be disappointed I suspect.

Good business by the club this far. Some necessary exits and class additions. I think most agree another midfielder is required. I would love us to also get a very good veteran striker in as third choice who would be happy being back up.

£24.15m?
Strangely close to Cock & Bull's original estimate...?

Not wanting to be pedantic but I think the reported fee for Obiang was €8m not £8m and even with BJ and brexit on the horizon we have not yet reached €/£ parity.

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
If Welbeck is the answer, I have no idea what the question is anymore.
Ferret and Spew (still love that name) trotted out the usual rubbish about FFP in one of their stories ealier, before changing the story to be about making losses.
They really are such contemptible shills.

I named one of our kittens Pedro in honour of Obiang. I should have read the signs when he got run over.
