I think any expectations of us spending big were always misplaced, not particularly because of sulli's tightness, but because pellers wasn't looking to revamp the squad, just tweak it. Fornals was obviously a substitute for Nasri, Haller for Arnie. Nasri wasn't up to it fitness-wise, Arnie wasn't up to it mentality-wise I think Pellers believes this squad is good enough for top six. If we reach that THEN we'll need to spend next summer!

This bloke was repeatedly linked to us earlier in the season...

Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of Real Betis midfielder and former Cardiff loanee Victor Camarasa. #CPFC #RealBetis

Also, bearing in mind next week, it's being heavily rumoured that Leroy Sane is off to Bayern this week for €100m

I like him, but no way we were signing him once we got Fornals who is a younger better version of Camarasa

Aaron Long quoted stating how he doesn’t understand why it’s so hard for an American international to get a work permit, and that he dreams of playing in the premier league.

Unless our name is being used as a way to attract interest, that must surely mean we are trying to bring him in. Will be interesting to keep an eye on him.

I’m all for criticising when it’s due, but keep it fair.

Quite, but surely that just points out how thin we are in the middle when Wilshere gets injured and if Sanchez maintains the form he's shown for us this far.

It also probably means Lanzini getting pushed back into partnership with Rice where he'll get pelters on here because it's not really his game.

I would be very surprised if Red Bull don't make it extremely expensive for him to come over, would imagine they value him at 10 million, at least, in this market. Would basically be tanking their season without a replacement that even comes close to Long lined up and he just signed a new contract. Could see it in January, though. The stuff about a release clause is pure nonsense, as far as I am aware the league does not dabble in them.

Thought the Bilbao no. 9, WIlliams, was excellent today. Don’t know much about him though?

A new CB has to add something we were lacking of, or eventually be better than what we have.

So.. is Long better than Diop or Balbuena, or add something they do not have???

I doubt it really from the deepest of my football soul knowledge???

And If I´m not sure of something, I learned to just say no to it.

No, I think he grew up in San Sebastián (or "Donostia" for the baske people)...

But hes trough and trough "spanish", as he did not grew up in Africa.

I notice that Trott didn't play for Wimbledon today - not even on the bench. Anyone know if he's injured?
