Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 West Ham Utd (17/08/19)
Saturday 17th August 2019
KO:15:00
Let's hope it was Hughton who had the voodoo over us and not Brighton and we can get our season started.
1-3, Haller, Anderson and Lanzini. Murray with there goal obviously.

They are a bit of a bogey team for us. I always get the jitters when we are due to play them.

They had a very good win today, which I didn't see coming, so they will fancy their chances against a team which has just been completely bum ****ed on its own patch. Before today, I had this as an away banker, now, I'm thinking they are gonna bum f*** us too

Them giving Watford a good hiding today isn't good for us at all.

a very different side under Potter than they were under HughtonPhil S wrote:the Glen Murray show
Can't stand Brighton
Hope we stuff them
They will be very confident after today.
I would love a win, and we are a better side, but I don't think getting a point on the board (and the psychological impact that has) would be the worst result in the world

Away at one of our bogey teams, the week after that spanking. #thewesthamway
Personally I think that how we respond to today's match will tell us more about our chances this year than today's (2nd half) performance and result.
A draw would be good. Clean sheet very nice.
Prediction: 1-1 Haller to get off the mark.

They played 5 at the back today, including three very big centre backs. 5 shots, 3 goals.

I'm dreading this fixture as usual, unless we get a positive reaction from everyone.
This will perhaps be more of a measure of us than today's match.

10 points off us in 2 seasons. Speaking as someone who lives in Brighton, it can't go on.

I like to think fortunes will reverse here and we can break our streak against Brighton. The change from Hughton to Potter could well see a change in football that may work in our favour.
We should aim to win. A point there wouldn't be terrible

0-0 this one.
After a 12 minute VAR check, Lanzini's 90th minute winner is ruled out due to his shin pad being offside.

The season begins for us. already playing catch up but last season we were 5 games in before we got anything. This will be a tough match for us against a team who has our measure.
if cresswell plays then we are stuffed I fear as a wek CM and LB areas are so obvious to teams. If only we addressed them in the window !
fabianski
fredericks diop Balbuena masuaka
rice noble fornals
Antonio haller Anderson
subs Roberto Johnson ogbonna wilshere lanzini yarmolenko ajeti
hopefully a 2-1 win for us haller x 2

Re: ⚽ Brighton and Hove Albion vs West Ham United: Match Thread
lets hope so because if we lose this one then we will be under pressure !
I always like to judge us after tens games before getting worried although last years start brought the process forward !
man city lost no shock but the manner and score line was !
brighton a
watford a
norwich h
villa a
man utd h
bournemouth a
palace h
everton a
sheffield h
newcastle h
burnley a
spurs h
This is a relatively kind run of fixtures up to the spurs match we should be looking to be right up the top of the table by the time of the spurs match. anything below 8th would be very poor . should be no reason why we cant go on a long unbeaten run now ! everton away would be the hardest match we play I reckon. so need to start with a big away win on the south coast this saturday.
hopefully nobes is back along with king arthur !

Re: Brighton and Hove Albion vs West Ham United: Match Thread
My biggest gripe is we have a lack of ability to track runners and chasing back we are looking at the back of their shirts. It always looks like a lack of pace or fitness but we just don't seem to have players that read the game well.
I’m going with:
Fabianski
Fredricks Diop Balbuena Masuaku
Rice Noble Snodgrass
Antonio Haller Lanzini
Subs: Roberto, Ogbonna, Fornals, Anderson, Wilshire, Ajeti, Sanchez.
Going for a 1-2 win with Antonio and Haller
COYI!!

2-0 Brighton.
Just the type of team we don't turn up against. At least one goal from a set piece.
