HEADS UP DAN

tonight

Max Holloway vs. Frankie Edgar TITLE FIGHT
Cris Cyborg vs. Felicia Spencer
Geoff Neal vs. Niko Price
Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Arman Tsarukyan
Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Krzysztof Jotko

hopefully the title fight will make up for what seems to be on the face of it, a mediocre card......

Cyborg/Spencer could go one of two ways - Cyborg k.o. Spencer inside 30 seconds or it goes to a point decision and Spencer wins.

(don't put loads of money on it......)

Holloway on points - saw it that way - definite win. seemed to be almost a boxing match, no kicks, hardly any take downs

Cyborg got cut up a few times, couldn't put her opponent away but won well on points. can't see her beating Nunes if a re-match is on

Neal and Price was decent Neal hits bloody hard

rest of the card was pretty boring. not much going on at all.

Aug 17th is the next decent card with Cormier v. Miocic

Connor McGregor, proving yet again what a piece of **** he is.

Punching some old geezer who refused a free shot of his shitty whiskey.

Geezer didn't flinch... how embarrassing for Mcgregor.. the **** needs locking up.

happened in April from the article.

was giving everyone shots of his branded whisky..Proper 12 ...

https://www.tmz.com/2019/08/15/conor-mc ... y-dispute/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Conor McGregor uncorked a shot to the head of an elderly man in an Irish bar in a dispute over whiskey -- Conor's whiskey -- and TMZ Sports got this video showing the violence.

The absurd attack went down at The Marble Arch Pub in Dublin on April 6. Conor walked in and lined up cups for bar patrons ... looking to buy a round of his Proper Twelve for everyone. The problems started when the guy opted out. Conor placed a cup in front of him not once, but twice ... and he still refused.

Unclear if words were exchanged between them, but after Conor downed a shot with the other drinkers, he unexpectedly threw his notorious left fist right in the face of the old man who rejected the booze.

Two people immediately grabbed McGregor and pulled him out of the bar. The violence was reported to cops, who announced back in April they'd opened an investigation. It's unclear if that's still active, but there are no reports Conor was ever charged -- even though cops have reportedly seen this video.

Perhaps most odd of all ... the poor, old pub patron who got socked didn't even get knocked off his stool. People are just tougher in Ireland, apparently.

cracking night last night....

Costa/Romeo could have gone either way, good hard fight

Diaz - can't believe he managed to fight that well...another really good fight

as for the headliner...

Cormier was Cormier..usually looks like he is going to lose only to win...was ahead I think, asked his corner was he losing after I think it was 2 rounds...strange that

then round 4 Miocic started really hitting Cormier hard in the ribs and rib area...he really hurt Cormier and then wallop wallop wallop

all over Cormier stopped.....out on his feet and then took to the canvas......ref had to step in...

Anyone going to watch 242? Timings suit us Brits as it’s in Abu Dhabi.

Can’t see Poirier beating Khabib. Barboza fight should make for a good watch though.

yeah decent card

Khabib put the beat on Poirer as you so rightly said - was a decent fight in bits, Poirer hit him a few times and hurt him, but he got back into it.

not sure how the judges gave a 30-27 score to either fighter in the Barbosa one - I thought it was close and maybe 29-28 across the card for whomever.

see that the Brasilian's team is appealing the decision. said even they can't find a way their fighter won 30-27 on one card.

Incredible how Khabib just squeezes the life out of his opponents. Never looked in trouble there. Nice to see respect shown between the fighters. Apparently they swapped shirts, will auction said shirts and give the proceedings to charities in Africa, nice touch.

Barboza - Felder : brilliant to watch. Felder just edged it for me.

Blaydes looked dominant too. Makhachev will shoot up the rankings as well, seemed to have a clear game plan and executed it perfectly.

Ferguson/Khabib up next too ?

“Tony Ferguson gets the next shot and obviously if for whatever Tony can’t take the fight or doesn’t want the fight at that time, then we would figure out what would be next."

I really really hope so, Cuenc. I've been saying for a while that Tony is the only guy in that division who has a chance of beating Khabib. Mainly because he is such an unorthodox weirdo. :D

Dana White (understandably so) says maybe McGregor if Ferguson won't or cannot fight Khabib.

to be honest I have no interest in that fight. not after last time.

still some decent fights on the horizon hopefully.

just seen, Cyborg moves to Bellator.

I agree. A funny as it would be to see McGregor get mauled to death again, Tony v Khabib would actually be a competitive spectacle at least.

Re: UFC

decent enough card last night - seems that loads went to the judges and split decisions

Cowboy might want to hang it up after last night. technically can't really see why he was complaining, although him being a competitive person I can see it, but he got battered and his opponent held off battering him even more when he could have, Cerrone face down bent over unable to defend himself.

that's two batterings in a row now.
