Just don't pick Cresswell please to replace Masuaku
I would only make one other change. Wilshere for Yarmo.
My team:
--------------------------------Fabianski-----------------------------------
-Fredericks---------------Diop---------Ogbonna------------------Johnson-
----------------------------Noble--------Rice----------------------------------
----------------------------------Wilshere--------------------------------------
-Anderson------------------------Haller-----------------------------Lanzini-
Subs: Roberto, Cresswell, Balbuena, Snodgrass, Fornals, Yarmalenko, Ajeti.

Haller has 3 goals in 4 games in a league that he has never played in before. If there is 1 player that doesn't cause me any concern its him.

If our centre backs are "appalling at reading the game" and "constantly out of position, how come they're picking up clean sheets?
What story is that then? I think you need to appreciate that forums are are about debate, disagreement, and not a mouthpiece for one opinion only.
Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
The problem is most times you need to keep the ball long enough to build an attack. If your midfield behind isn't quick enough than it would make more sense to have a player that uses his brain to compliment the players around him.21212 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 11:08 am Does it not add to the slow build up that lacks penetration? We have midfielders that do not like to run beyond the opposition defence and now have a CF the same. Arnautovic did add penetration by running into the space behind the oppositions defence.
The fact we failed to fully test a poor team like Aston Villas goalkeeper must add to this concern.
If Antonio was playing on Monday night I reckon we would have won that game.
Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
I agree - we are massively missing Antonio as he gives us something no-one else in the team can give us. He would have battered Villa on Monday....
I thought Fornals looked ok when he came on. Lacking a bit of confidence but was getting in the right positions and should have put that goal on a plate for Haller in the dying seconds...... I would be tempted to bring him in for Yarmolenko ahead of Wilshere for Man U. Cresswell for Masuaku and dare I say it but get the general back alongside Diop.... I know we're keeping clean sheets but I feel a lot safer when those two are at the back....

Mobility and pace arent one in the same. Haller has some decent pace regardless, but he's also very athletic and acrobatic in general.
He is far from immobile. Arnautovic hindered us more than Haller ever will, he wasn't a striker.

I think Haller is the real deal. He reminds me of Nicholas Anelka in his movement.
I think we will nick this one and win 2-1 with Man Utd scoring first.
Our defending of set pieces needs work, and I expect that to be where the goal comes from.
I think we have enough talent to create opportunities and we just need a bit more desire to commit to taking chances without fear of losing possession.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
I'm optimistic for this one. Man Utd are currently a poor team - as poor as they have been since the Ferguson years, and with a questionable manager too.
I'll miss the game, which again all but ensures a decent performance and a win, however I'm delighted it was switched to a Sunday so I can watch it in a bar in a sunnier climate.
I do wish people would lay off with the Cresswell "hate", as with Ogbonna, Masuaku and others before them. Perhaps, if he does play Sunday give him some support and get behind him and the team, big ask for some I know...

Man Utd being Man Utd will come to attack (which will be expected of them and OGS) and will play into our hands, a nice expansive open game, that we will win.
Anderson will be MOTM.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
I'm never optimistic and am always amazed that anyone who has supported West Ham for more than about five minutes ever can be.
1-2.
1-2.
Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
I'm not sure if I can believe it but can the best defence in the Premier League over the last 4 games keep up the good work?
I think it shows how fat things have come and how far they have fallen that I will be really disappointed if we don't get a result. Tough game but I am going to go 2-1 West Ham. Haller and Anderson to score

My only worry with Haller is that we run him into the ground after losing Antonio and selling Hernandez.bristolhammerfc wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 12:34 pm I think Haller is the real deal. He reminds me of Nicholas Anelka in his movement.
Hopefully Ajeti is up to it.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
does no good to boo our own players. if cresswell plays then he gets my full support. afterwards is different. I reckon he will put in a good performance as he knows he is dropping down the order for a first team place. just need him to defend properly.
hopefully Pogba doesn't play as he is a monster who when in the mood can hurt anyone.
