CCR3: Oxford Utd 4-0 West Ham Utd (25/09/19)
Wednesday, 25th September.
KO: 19:45
Here goes another one!
Hopefully a routine win and through to the next round - but only if we treat the game seriously and are not too complacent.
A nervy 1-2 victory will do.
COYI!

Any kind of victory will do. Confidence should be sky high after today. (Mind you, they had a rather good win yesterday!)

Got a cheeky ticket with some home fans who I befriended whilst staying in Oxford. They cant sell it out bloody ridiculous. Looking forward to it but they are no mugs
Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
I would shake up the starting line up.
Let players like Roberto, Zabaleta, Johnson, Balbuena, Snodgrass, Sanchez, Wilshere, Fornals and Ajeti play and give them some match fitness.
Should be enough quality to get trough against Oxford.
Hope Pellers considers Holland to.

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
I expect Masuaku to start this one as I reckon Cresswell will now keep his place in the starting 11 against Bournemouth. Which I personally wouldn't do as I especially think Bournemouth play the type of game Masuaku is more suited to.
I also expect Zabaleta to play. And even though I know he'll be fine against a club that level I'd much rather prepare for the future and give Johnson a game.
And if Holland doesn't at least get at least a chance to be on the bench then he really needs to start asking the manager some questions as he certainly can't do anymore the way he is playing for the u23s
Reid is suppose to be playing for u23s but why not play him in this game instead!? Instead of risk the potential chance of injuring Diop as he'll probably end up playing next to Balbuena.
The team I would go with would be:
--------------------------------Roberto------------------------------
-Johnson----------Balbuena----------Reid------------Cresswell(c)-
--------------------------------Sanchez---------------------------------
---------------------Wilshere------------Snodgrass--------------------
-Fornals-----------------------Ajeti---------------------------Holland-
Subs: Martin, Zabaleta, Diop, Rice, Noble, Anderson, Haller.

Gotta think that Oxford Utd are a step up from Newport. Well, division wise anyway.
Also gotta think that Pelboy will rest a few..

Tough one this as oxford are on form and we have a big game on Saturday away at in form Bournemouth.
Roberto
Johnson cardosa balbeuna masuaka
wilshere sanchez Snodgrass
Holland ajeti fornals
subs martin zabaleta ried noble rice Anderson Coventry
2-0 hammers "patsy" Holland and ajeti seeing us safely through to the next round and a home tie with the lowest ranking team left in please !

Anyone know if Johnson is actually fit? Hasn't been turning out for the Dev squad lately, who incidentally are unbeaten and flying!

Any routine win with no new injuries and I'll be delighted.

Yes definitely a case of trying some new faces but it wont be easy. Bournemouth is going to be tough the next weekend too.
Just can't afford any more injuries.

A tricky away game against a club coming in on a high after hiding crisis club Lincoln at the weekend - although less than a week since they only got a draw against Bolton.
Could go either way - I'll pluck a 1-1 draw, with us recovering after conceding early, and then a penalty shoot out lottery.

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
Looking forward to this with another new ground to tick off, expecting a similar team to the Newport game.
Anyone else in a rush to get back to the city centre after the game for coaches/trains? Can't see a taxi rank near the ground and apparently they've banned Ubers in Oxford. Anyone with plans, advice would be much appreciated

Not on BT Sport. Sky are showing MK Dons v Liverpool.
We'll be on one of Wembley's streams.

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
First as mentioned on the tickets thread there are tickets available in home areas if you're sensible.
I'm a local and they have been on general sale for a bit.would suggest avoiding Oxford mail stand which is the main home support the other areas are very genteel.
Want us to go full strength as our best chance of a cup and a game we will lose if mess about putting fringe players in.
Very West Ham Beat Man Utd then lose to Oxford we can all see it coming !

Don't think that's very likely. (Though I did say exactly the same about Wimbledon last season)
