My solicitors being better than the solicitors representing the opposition and getting the opposition to sign a legal document that established the position in my favour. F'ing ecstatic.

I know it's weird, but I've got an infected knee following a heart op a few weeks ago. My knee's so swollen, my leg looks like when a snake has just swallowed a rabbit whole. I had to go to the minor injuries clinic this arvo to get it drained. Nice.

I sat next to a feller in the waiting room, there with his beautiful little girl, 4 years old, virtually bald, arm in a sling. She was playing with the toys in the waiting room, dancing around and singing to herself in a very chirpy and very sweet way.

Her dad was telling me how brave she'd been during her chemo, but had fallen over at lunchtime and they suspected a broken arm. He was having a really hard time telling me and had a few tears. The way she ran over to give him a hug and console him was the most beautiful thing I've seen in ages. When the guy got himself together I excused myself and went outside, had a few tears of my own through a mile-wide smile.

Then the nurse stuck a knitting needle in my knee to let the splurge out. Didn't matter though.

Out with friends last night when one of the women (who is in her mid-fifties) learnt that lightening comes before thunder, then for the next two hours kept repeating this as though it was some major revelation.

Also mention that if you count after the lightning until the thunder, that's how many miles you are away from the storm.

I have no idea if that is factual but I always do it.

And divide by five.

The lightning strike is as good as instantaneous, sound travels at around 5 seconds per mile at sea level.

Did not know the divide by 5! So the storm has been closer to me all these years without knowing it!
