Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
I’d go:
——————-Roberto
Zab——Balbuena—-Cardosa—-Arthur
——-Snodgrass—-Sanchez
Fornals——Wilshere——Holland
———-———-Ajeti
Subs: Fab, Diop, Creswell, Noble, Yarmolenko, Anderson and Haller
People might say that’s too weak but 3 of that back 4 were arguably in our starting back 4 last season.
Ajeti needs minutes, as he’s our only other striker, whilst I keep hearing good things about Holland.
It’s also worth considering, Yarmolenko has played a lot of football (including internationals) after a long lay off. Similarly Rice, Noble and Diop played a hell of a lot last year (whilst Rice now plays regularly for England) so I’d try not to burn them out.
That being said, any sniff of looking like a rerun of Wimbledon last year I’d be making a double sub at half time bringing on some of our dangermen and another on 60 mins if need be.

its a shame we had to play this today and not last night but with Bournemouth in mind the team will be an interesting mix.
Holland has to start for me get him involved and lets have a look at him. he was supposed to be better than diagana before his injury.
Roberto
zabaleta cardosa Balbuena masuaka
sanchez wilshere Snodgrass
fornals ajeti Holland
subs martin diop cresswell noble Anderson haller Coventry
should be enough but that's what we said last season !
2-0 hammers ajeti and holland

Would definitely start Nobes for this type of opposition. Know I'm probably in a minority but he'll be needed in the middle of the park but we shall see!

Hi RS - no, not going. Have tried booking on line (set up an account with my OX28 postcode) but every time I select a seat (or even get their website to find me a seat), I get 'Not Available' when I try to proceed to checkout.rigoberts song wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 4:17 pm Hi Bramwell hope you're well ? I'm obviously Witney too are you going tomorrow ? plenty of Oxford tickets left in their areas if you haven't got one !
Still, Colchester United cheered me a little last night

After speaking to a Oxford fan we booked into the park and ride at Unipart, apparently parking near the ground can be a pain - then busy getting away after.

League is far too important at this stage, only player who should start from last Saturday’s side is Fornals who can do with as many minutes as possible.
If we can’t win with our second string side it provend even further we can’t afford our current starting eleven players to be injured.

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
one way to do that would be to never play our best players..even in league games. They may get injured in training though. Seriously .....possibly sacrifice a cup run for a chance of 6th place?Beedub wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 11:24 am League is far too important at this stage, only player who should start from last Saturday’s side is Fornals who can do with as many minutes as possible.

I know we won't put out a full strength side but strongest possible
Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
It's noticeable how attitudes have changed since our last league cup game. Then the call was to play our strongest team to make sure we gave it a go, now almost everyone is picking a second string! I don't disagree at all, we just don't want to pick up injuries to key players in an early round tie like this. Our fringe players also need the game time Players like Snodgrass are likely to be very important to us as the season goes on, they need to be kept match fit, plus the youngsters need a chance to shine COYI
Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
I’m the opposite. I would make minimal changes with the aim to substitute the likes of Haller and Anderson as the game goes on and hopefully we have a lead.

Afternoon all, Oxford Fan here.
If you're travelling by car tonight and fancy missing all the bumper to bumper traffic on the Oxford Ring Road, then at no extra miles and a lovely cross country route straight to Grenoble Road, which even some away coaches have now cottoned onto, then follow these directions.
Come off M40 at Junction 7
Follow the A329 through Little Milton (mind speed camera) to Stadhampton (mind speed camera). Continue on road through Stadhampton which will bear right and continue as the B480. Follow B480 for a few miles until you reach the roundabout at the top of Grenoble Road. Turn left into Grenoble Road and follow through roundabouts until you reach ground on the right. Going this way you will not touch Oxford at all and should be free of any traffic.
All the best.
Oxford Fan.
