Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
I've never understood widespread changes, especially a Team in form. 2 or 3 changes, sure but not practically a new team who in a short space of time is expected to gel. Yes, individually we'd be a better outfit still but football never works like that and it's always about a Team and continuity with it that works best. Comes across as arrogant too when Teams do it, like it almost doesnt matter who we put out, we should walk it.
We're used to this ****, time and time again regardless of personnel and management. And I won't lie, Pellegrini has a big flaw when it comes to Cup competitions with us to date which simply ain't good enough. He along with the players deserve the criticism heading their way. Still generally live him though. I don't want to see a repeat in the FA Cup again.

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread
There will be a queue of people saying “this side was good enough to beat Oxford”, just like they did with Wimbledon.
What seems to be missed is that by playing such a weakened side you are communicating that this match doesn’t really matter and lo and behold, the team play like it doesn’t matter.
We played like the Wimbledon game didn’t matter and whilst I’ve obviously not seen anything of tonight, 4-0 to a heavily changed League One side suggests we probably played like this match doesn’t matter either.

I've been saying it for ages, doesn't matter what others say. Second time this year we've let in 4 against 3 division teams.Crouchend_Hammer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 9:37 pm Didn't take long for people to start bemoaning the lineup. Don't remember much opposition to it before hand (Cuenca exceped tbf)

Disgraceful. Just absolutely disgraceful.
What the f@@k is the matter with the club.
Don't they ever want to win anything ever again?
Obviously not.

Absolutely shameful and embarrassing.
Pellegrini can leave his “big club mentality” cr@p to one side if nights like this continue to happen.
I really rate and respect the man but tonight and the Wimbledon match last season put a serious stain on his CV here.

Most premier league teams will make lots of changes this early in the cup, none of them will play as pathetically as this.
These players will all think they are good enough for premier league football and will all have a point to prove, not good enough for league one on this performance.
Losing to lower league teams happens, but you can't lose like this.
Especially when we done the same against Wimbledon last year.
This is worse than embarrassing. There is nothing anyone at the club can say to apologise for this.

It's sad to think we will never win this trophy. It'll get scrapped in the next 10 years. All the years of focusing on the league & nothing to show for it.

What a way to smash our unbeaten run, ruin our clean sheet run and basically set our stall out to never wish to compete in a cup competition again for the foreseeable future. Can not explain just how pi***d off I am now! Thought we had turned the corner of being a f*****g circus!!!!!

I don't care where the f*** we are in the league. And it's not just a defeat. That is an outright chronic embarrassment.
Hang your heads, every last one of you. Some of us want a little more than jostling for top half of the golden league.
