Re: Who Next? The odds
Everton and Arsenal will also likely be interested in Benitez
I am sure he won't be interested in Everton based on his Liverpool history, but I am sure he would love the Arsenal job (even if he won't get it, he might think he has a chance)

Re: Who Next? The odds
to say he was uninspiring at the Barcodes is an understatement
I also posted a list - I'll spare posting the entire list again of the players he bought while at the Bin Dippers
Rafa Benítez bought 61 players for £231,151,000

That idea was shouted down by the football experts on here. Apparently he wasn't good enough for west hamBoom Kid wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 10:20 pm Unfortunately I think we missed the boat in that we should have tried to prise Brendan Rogers away from Celtic a little while ago. Only my opinion of course. As of now I think Pelle has to go and Rafa or Howe coming in would be good - Poch would be a miracle.

Re: Who Next? The odds
My list of favorites would be (in no order):
1) Benitez - Pros: safe pair of hands who made the most out of his time at Newcastle with very little budget and a crap squad. Would definitely get these players playing to their highest potential. You can tell he really wanted to make it work at Newcastle and build a legacy, but Mike Ashley made that job untenable. Our owners are ever so slightly better.
Cons: Football can be negative at times, not the most inspiring or outside the box hire, Expensive wages in China.
2) Howe - Pros: Plays great football and has really done well with Bournemouth. Young and hungry, just needs to make the next step up in club stature. Known for bringing through English youth.
Cons: Didn’t do well outside of Bournemouth, might just be a good situation for him there. Could be a risk. Also known to buy expensive duds as much as hidden gems.
3) Kovac - Pros: Did really well at Eintracht Frankfurt, enough to get poached by Bayern. Didn’t necessarily work for him there, but still a good manager who plays exciting football. Has worked with Haller and would know how to get the best of him. Also decent in the transfer market.
Cons: No English experience, don’t know how he would adapt.
4. Bowyer - If we wanted an outside the box hire, this would be my choice.
Pros: Players will run through brick walls for him. He plays decent football and knows how to get the best out of his team. If it works out, could build a dynasty here.
Cons: No top flight coaching experience, could be a risky hire.
My bet is on Benitez, but I wouldn’t be upset with any of these options.

Let's keep him and drop two divisions.
We're here for the long term - so what will it matter to us in the overall scheme of things?
Imagine the meltdown in the people who run/ruin this club? Squeaky bum time.
I can handle it - can they?

I fear it's gone so far that merely getting rid of them won't fix it,.......

You can hear MP as we face Exeter at home “I face the same problems since Day 1 here.....we must do better next week... we will see”.

I’d love to see Bowyer given a go, he’s done a cracking job with Charlton. As a team they are better then the individuals.

Would he want to move up though? Some people just love the developing side of the game, and that’s where they want to stay.worthinghammer wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 8:26 am Really surprised no-ones mentioned Dmitri Halajko.....knows the set-up and playing some lovely football with the U23s

Re: Who Next? The odds
No way they are getting Benetiz until the end of the season, personally I don't want him here, the only plus point would be him getting stuck into the owners, as he loves to deflect his own shortcomings to the owners.
WTF has Rio ever done to get a gig at a Premier league club, that has disaster written all over it?
I really don't care who rocks up, it's all the same all the time, has been for years, I'm actually hoping we drop a division, let's see what happens then

Re: Who Next? The odds
I wouldn’t put RB at the top of my wanted list either.
The Spanish Fat Sam is a very good description.
We’ve plucked one manager from semi retirement in China already, we don’t need another has been.
Football has changed, even in the last 10 years. A young, hungry and progressive manager is what I’d
like to see, unfortunately, we won’t get one.
Whatever the outcome is like to see some commitment and passion on the pitch rather than a load of numpties strolling around while they pick up their £50k a week
whether they’re crap or not.
Noble needs to step up and start being a leader, but I don’t think he’s got it in him unfortunately. Nice lad, Mr West Ham and all that but i think he’d rather be fishing than kicking some arse.
