I think we should make a list of possible candidates to replace Pellers replacement, when he is also undermined in 18months time.

You can never be too organised.

i know you are being facetious SH but that is what a a lot of clubs with a long-term strategy would be doing., keeping tabs on what else is out there, even two years down the line

Absolutely, and rightly so, it's shame we have to do it for other reasons, however.

Moyes wasn't here long enough to generate any meaningful data.
I've had a quick look and here's the data. I know it doesn't tell the whole story but there is generally a significant correlation between transfer spend and finishing position.

Bournemouth (last four PL season finishing positions)
14, 12, 9, 16
Total net spend
£119.35m (Avg 29.84m per season)

Burnley
15, 7, 16, 19
Total net spend
£59.6m (Avg 14.9m per season)

And let's throw West Ham in there:

10, 13, 11, 7
Total net spend
£110m (Avg 27.5m per season)

Make of it what you will.

I make of it that over a four year period our absolute shambles of a club has spent less than Howe's Bounemouth and Averaged 2 places higher in the table....

He should have been sacked after the Spurs game. He will look like the badly treated - low shelf life manager if he’s sacked after a loss to Chelsea. Ideally after a thumping by Wolves, but they could be manager less by then.

100% in agreement with you re Curbishly though
Think you slightly misread my post. I never said Moyes won most weeks and played free flowing football. Just that given the context of the appointment, and the predicament the team was in etc, I couldn't imagine ANY manager coming in and winning most games with free-flowing football. Therefore, I think it's a harsh brush to tarnish Moyes with if some people are saying he has the worst win % of any manager. He did a decent job under the circumstances I think.

Not entirely true. Betting odds for these sorts of markets also fluctuate based on what people are putting money on. Bookies may have received a load of bets on Howe recently.

That said, I firmly expect us to be interested in Howe (and seems like Ex's show alluded to that). Whether Howe would be interested in us is a much different matter!

Gotta hand it to that Dyche - I can't think of any other manager who could keep a club in the Premier League after finishing 19th.

Eddie Howe doesn't bother with cup competitions either, you know, but he does play the right way and his Bournemouth team is really fit. If he comes, hopefully he will come with that Fraser and Brooks.

I think Dyche would be a better fit for our current squad (than Howe) and also more likely to gain promotion if we're relegated.
Howe's preferred MO is 2 big mobile strikers that can bomb down the middle or out wide - problem is that only Antonio plays that way.Dyche's Burnley is a largely pace-less side that grinds out results.

So from that we can forecast that if we give Eddie Howe 8.5% MORE to spend than we've given WHU managers over the past 4 years, he will still finish on average 2.5 places *LOWER* in the league!

No thanks..

What I make of it is the shocking fact that a club that gets a crowd of 10,000 has a bigger net spend than us. Is that right?

If we do sack Pellegrini and have to pay compensation, think its pretty much nailed on that Rice will be sold in January. Just so that the crooks can recoup their losses and some more.

In the modern word crowd size has very little relative impact on a club's revenue. That said, it's amazing that Bournemouth stay on the right side of FFP - yes they were cited about 5 years ago but that's it.

Want to be really shocked... they have a bigger net spend than Liverpool since 2015 as well. Their Russian oligarch owner is pouring money in, Bournemouth may be a "small" club, but they're one of the 15 or so biggest spenders in Europe by net spend.

Especially since their owner's Net Worth is only apparently £700m!:

Exactly, never got the media hype, surrounding Howe, and this just proves that he bang average. But if your face fits, what do stats and facts matter, eh?

Now.. who's going to break it to hammerman11?
