The Daves got rid of Tony Carr another great move by them.keithwright1977 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 7:49 pm What are the odds that we sack Pellegrini and then he goes on to win something at another team. On another point I currently think the whole club stinks right from the top, decisions made from the board to the manager just aren’t working. You have to look at the structure of the club, how many of us are looking at the youth set up and getting excited about future prospects.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager
Given all the currently available options (excluding anyone currently working as GSB would never pay compensation to a rival club) - Houghton (decent man, but too defensive), Rafa (defensive, moneybags), Moyes / IB (decent coach but clearly would take Everton if available); Di Canio (don't even think about it), European manager out of work (don't know enough about European football to judge) - I would stick with Pellegini for the rest of the season. He has unmatched experience, is rational, so should come up eventually with a solution to our current form (which in part is down to bad luck losing Fab to injury). Maybe not a motivator, but do professionals earning more in a week than most of us earn in 2 years, need motivating? they are not the U-12s for goodness sake. We are unlikely to get a better manager in the short or medium term.

He knew what we were about. A good eye for a player too.

Wouldn’t the smart move be to sack Husillos and not Pellers?
1/ given our problems come largely from crap signings, he may well be the most to blame here
2/ even if not, sacking him might prompt Pellers to resign, leaving us with more dosh to spend on the new manager.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager
those largely crap signings were largely great signings at the end of last summer, and even this season haller looked every bit the £45m striker until our form turned. fornals is the only expensive player to offer nothing so far but i still feel like there's a lot more to come from him.
the big isn't with the players we signed, it's the players we didn't. roberto being a massive exception, but then what do you expect with a free middle aged keeper on 50p a week?
sullivan has created a narrative whereby hussilos chose fornals instead of a battling midfielder. we signed fornals fairly early in the window when we still had obiang on the books, a player who in pellegrini's words we "would replace" if we sold him. we didn't, but i suppose that's husillos's fault too. no doubt sullivan was begging husillos to spend his money, only for mario to state that we unequivocally didn't need any more players.

"I hope that we are going to try to revert these results."
Fighting talk from Pellers in the presser, proper gee'd up for Chelsea.
Do. Or do not. There is no 'try'

This is nothing new.
We'll win again.
We'll be relegated again.
We'll beat Chelsea again.

Same old guff from MP today.
They won’t sack him even if get pumped by Chelsea. It’s a game we are expecting to lose so it doesn’t look good sacking him after that.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager
I’m not Howe’s biggest fan, but that might be because of some of our games against Bournemouth and that 3-3 on Boxing Day. He also doesn’t try in the cups, though that might change at a bigger club. The one thing I will say for Howe is that he makes sure he has some presence in the midfield (signing Billing, Lerma etc) instead of signing a load of weak number 10 types and has managed to coach some players from League One into Premiership standard ones. He’s obviously a good manager...Softhammer wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2019 8:15 pm I dont think Howe is a better manager than Pell boy. However it's not looking good at the moment. Still.. I'll back the manager atleast until Christmas.
I could probably warm to the idea of him coming here...and it’s the direction we should really be going.

Start of the season we was expecting a top 6 push with the signings we made. We bombed a lot of deadwood and brought in good players.
Now its doom and gloom and not good enough. Truth is with the players we have had injured it has crippled the team.
Man City are struggling without Laporte, Liverpool were struggling without Salah, we are struggling without Lanzini, Antonio, Fabianski, Wilshere, Reid.....

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager
Liverpool are still top
Citeh are still there and there abouts
both have good options to progress in the CL
Reid and Wilshere have not played a decent minute in anger for 2 and 1 year respectively so their absence shouldn't be counted.
Lanzini didn't play at all last season and we still ended up mid table
Fab was the best keeper in terms of saves last season - we kept about the same number of clean sheets as Fulham and Huddersfield and we never fully addressed the problem.
other than that, your'e pretty much spot on

Given our injuries some of that "deadwood" would be playing. The owners had a few punts but then made the money back by leaving us with a paper thin squad.Johnny_C WHU wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 2:12 pm Bang on for me.

oh and when Antonio WAS fit, Pellers was reluctant to start him.
tough to blame all these injuries on a loss of form......
