Typical West Ham. Loosing several weeks, and then winning against Chelsea!

It´s still impossible to rate the quality of a Hammers team!! :D

well football is a funny old game and we are a weird team. never saw that performance coming as I had us down for a heavy defeat !
ogbonna really does put the effort in and combined with a steady keeper we had some solidity for once.
we did play well against a very open Chelsea side.
wolves away is a difficult test and I hope martin does well as he didn't have much to do so I am unsure how good he is. certainly better than Roberto but there is a reason that he only made his PL debut yesterday.

we have an issue with haller as he clearly does not have the mobility needed . we will have to play him up top with Antonio but that will cause us issues with the formation unless we play 352.

anyway great result but still remain unconvinced with pelle. however if we beat wolves and arsenal then pelle will have weathered the storm for a few months. not sure that is what we need long term .

fornals is getting there and good to see him start and play ok. we need to see ajeti a bit as well. I wonder if he is more mobile than haller ?

He didn't give a single foul against Chelsea in 90 minutes, unbelievable.

IIRC, Interpreted on MOTD as Chelsea didn't commit a single foul. :fsake:

I think Jon Moss should get back to drumming with Boy George. And I did say drumming!

Edit I though the commentary team were joking yesterday but Moss really does have a record shop called The Vinyl Whistle

Not having this anti Jon Moss comments today. Not a good ref but I literally didn’t notice him yesterday in general play, sign of a good reffing performance.

You didn't notice he gave 16 fouls to Chelsea and none to us? His positioning and keeping up with play was questionable ...

traxop wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2019 3:27 am Just to state the - water-is-wet - obvious. We managed to get through 90mins without committing any grievous individual errors and because of that we looked better, more in control. We didn't have to chase the game. Pellegrini's game plan didn't have to be thrown out before half time.

Hopefully we'll see more disciplined performances in the next few games. No more stupid individual mistakes should be our new mantra.
Had to do with a more sturdy keeper perhaps? Not sure. All I know is that Chelsea defence was scared of Antonio and I loved it.

Martin made a huge difference. I thought it was more a 4411 than 433 - with both wide players working very hard. All that and Antonio up front and it was a different team.

The Old Mile End wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2019 1:16 am You could see the difference in the first few minutes. Antonio makes such a difference with his willingness to chase down balls played anywhere forward. Haller was total contrast when he replaced him late on. However, I would like to see the two of them together.

Top result and performance.
He,Haller, has some of Sheringham's qualities and I am trying to recall if he.also, feigned closing down and chasing lost causes.?

Surprised they managed to wipe the cum off their chins long enough to talk about anyone but Liverpool.

Won’t watch that show anymore. It’s 40 minutes of Scouse and Citeh highlights every week, with that absolutely boring **** Alan Shearer doing his Lawro on a rainy day impression, followed by 15 of every other game
