Let’s not get ahead of ourselves :lol:Mikloskosglovebag wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 8:30 pm I would take Antonio ahead of Kane to the Euros. Such a weapon of a player. Fornal does like to be in those right places in the box, still hard to find his position.
I would take Antonio to the Euro’s potentially, but not ahead of arguably the best number 9 in world football.

You can’t play Anderson in a 2 man central midfield, he does a fair amount of tracking back for a ‘luxury’ player but he isn’t tough enough nor has enough fight to play in central in 4-4-2.Graza wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 8:43 pm In any of the positions. He has recently looked better as the advanced midfielder, but he also has a range of passing that would make him dangerous in the middle. He also does more defensive work than he gets credit for because he can be inconstant with it, but in a team pulling together and putting more in together I think he'd shine more.
I also think if we are playing 4-4-2 having ‘wingers’ such as Snodgrass and Fornals who naturally come inside helps ensure we aren’t out numbered in the middle, which would not be the case with Anderson.
Anderson might be able to play the Antonio role, playing off Haller and being a willing runner, but he’s certainly not starting ahead of Antonio that’s for sure.

Anderson could pretty easily play the Fornals or Snodgrass role in this formation, he's generally more committed to defending than either of them, and certainly far more likely to get in there and make a tackle. Honestly he could probably even play the Noble role if we were desperate, he tackles more than Noble, and he's got more pace.stu1 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 9:30 pm You can’t play Anderson in a 2 man central midfield, he does a fair amount of tracking back for a ‘luxury’ player but he isn’t tough enough nor has enough fight to play in central in 4-4-2.

Personally fully fit, I put Snodders on the bench and Anderson in that spot, lose nothing really defensively, gain in creativity. Then Snodgrass can come on and do the running for whichever of the midfielders (Noble, Anderson, Fornals) looks most tired.

Re: ⚽ Southampton v West Ham United: Match thread (14/12)
We deserved the win but rode our luck second half.
Southampton were awful first half and we should have made the most of that to get a bigger lead.
Was always going to be a fraught affair, especially with a player like Danny Ings about, and we definitely got lucky with that one that hit the he bar and post (which I think would have been given afer VAR)
We of course should have had a penalty first half and although Antonio's goal was rightly disallowed (based on the new law, which I don't agree with) it was still very unlucky
Everyone put a shift in and apart from the obvious outstanding performance from Antonio, i thought Fornals, Oggy and Cresswell were very good. Fair play to Cresswell as I give him lot of stick
If we can get a result v palace then we can go into the two home games v Leicester and Bournemouth on the up. I think the Liverpool game being postponed will turn out to be a blessing

Well done chaps, deserved win because you were more 'up' for it.
I guess we should've bought Antonio when Reading offered him to us for 1 million!
See you on Leap Year's Day, when of course I will ask you all to marry me

Andersons the problem bro as I see it, much more suited to Arnie stretching the game and him filling in, than Haller who is holding the line. We've signed two 40m players that don't suit each others game, and we are trying to shoe horn the two together (in my view)
