Thoroughly professional and solid display tonight.

A rocky first half, but as predicted our quality shone through.

In to the hat for the next round, that's what matters.

Still not sure about Moyes. But two wins is undoubtedly a very good start. Keep it up lads!

Ahh, so they do have some character after all.
Overcome the first half predictable onslaught and made the 2nd half their own. :scarfer:

We made hard work of that but looked solid and I was confident we'd win it. :scarfer:

A comfortable win for West Ham. Good to see a huge improvement in the second half. There will be tougher tests ahead but that's two games, two wins and two clean sheets under Moyes and a 6-0 goals record.

Anyone worried about our slightly shaky first half should remember that that was the first 45 minutes we've played a back five in two years - so we were always going to need some time to adjust.

Thought the CBs did an excellent job at dropping into spaces left by the wing backs.

You can only beat what's in front of you, and in my lifetime we've lost a lot more of these games than we've won.

Credit to Moyes and the boys!

Very professional performance in a typically gritty cup tie away against lower league opposition.

Weathered the storm first half (they never really came close to scoring) before making our class tell in the second half. Late flurry from the underdogs to try to grab an equaliser.

Some of the negative comments on this thread earlier on were, I felt, pretty out of order and clearly driven by an anti-Moyes agenda.

Sometimes I wonder whether everyone on here actually wants our team to win.

3 centre backs was the right call.

Surprised Sanchez didn't start ahead of Lanzini. Ideal chance for him to get stuck in.

Anderson showed some lovely touches. Arthur dangerous in attack. Haller....ehem..

3 out of 10 first half
8 out of 10 second half

A simple tactical tweak made all the difference

I was pleased to see we didn't sit back on the 1-0 lead either

Who was captain? Oggy?

He was superb, yet again

Well what a time for Moyes to show a West Ham manger how to treat the FA Cup, and how to manage a game situation against a very good Gills side undefeated at home for months, yet come away with a good and well deserved win.

First half maintained possession and didn't really give them too much of a sniff, they relied on long throws and corners to maintain pressure but for once this West Ham team defended excellently. Ogbonna especially won most if not all duals in the air and by the second half I really didn't see them hurting us. Two very well worked goals and well finished by Zaba and Fornals.

Very professional performance and into the hat - that is all any of us could have asked for before today's game.
