Marks been a great servant to West Ham but you can't go on forever time to step back now and get some young legs in. We are struggling for work rate in midfield and seriously need to address this situation :crest:

If anyone catches the replay of their goal today on SSN, just watch the different reactions from Rice and Noble. Rice sprinting, Noble jogging, and it's a stretch to call it a jog, and then appealing for offside.

You just can't get away with that.

The time for 'gradually' was about 2017.

It feels like we're watching the club flog a dead horse.

Ditto Zabaleta. Fabianski is racing into that category too.

Parts of the team have been decaying for some time, but the decisions taken this summer by the club's hierarchy have been amazingly bad.

To be fair Noble played well against Bournemouth but I think Fornals has been on form so I think dropping him was odd.

said it many times noble should only be on the bench from now on. however we don't have much in the squad with the likes of sanchez and wilshere .
for me fornals starts ahead of him. rice as captain.

noble would not start for any other PL team. been a good player for us but its going sour now.

our "upgrade" will be joe allen and then we repeat the process in a season or two !

buy younger players and we have a few years and a resale value if it goes wrong.

berge Fernandez sangare kessie are what we need,. 2 of thoem would transform us.

we still have big problems at RB and GK though !

hammerman - agreed.

The reliance on a veteran who is getting visibly slower is a board level balls up. Noble should be used sparingly. Most if not all his opponents run off him every game. It's sad to see. What's even sadder is there appears to be no alternative at the club.

Board level incompetence to rely on a veteran and a youngster to run midfield.

I remember Tottenham did exactly the same with Garry Mabbutt years ago. Flogged him to death until he could no longer stand up

I think he has got away with murder since that glourious last night at the Boelyn. I suspect he wields more power than we realise. Billic Moyes and Pellergrini and Moyes again appear to be reluctant to treat him equally with others. Was Koyuate and Obaing much worse than him?

Diabolical bias and the sentimental blindness from the terraces is astonishing.

He offers very little defensively or offensively. Please note I do not want to be reminded of a his two goals vs Bournemouth. One of which was a penalty and the other laid on for him.

Bournemouth, one of the worst teams we’ve played this season, at home: his best game in recent memory

Sheffielf Utd, top half team, away: his worst game in recent memory

Horses for courses.

Sheff Utd are in 5th for a reason and have had a few games where VAR has cost them. They suffocate teams and press intensely. Our midfield was light because 3 at the back. They also stop Masuaku getting forward 2nd half giving Zabby less attention. We were one sided because Freddy was missing and it was a tough game. Bookies had us priced at 7/2 after the 4-0 win last week. They know how tough that place is to get a result.

Using him as a regular starter is obviously not on now and probably hasn't been for quite a while. Sh*t recruitment in that area and guess what, he is starting regularly.

Spot on. Not his fault either. He’d still be a brilliant option when we need a flat track bully against struggling midfields (see Man U or Cherries), but he’d JUST be an option.

Pellegrini got it seriously wrong when he decided Wheelchair was the alternative, and again when instead of letting Fornals play, he bottled it and stuck him on the wing.

People yesterday at the game were discussing Fornals or Lanzini, when it was another midfielder who needed looking at

We'll see if the "Don't run, don't play" applies to him. He's been the worst culprit for a while now. Got to think that's why the Lanzini's, Anderson's, Yarmolenko's etc stop doing the hard work. They can't be bollocked by their captain for not running when they are running past him.

Maybe where you sit, but plenty around me coat him off.

It is time that he gets used sparingly, but a suitable replacement needs to be sought urgently. Not the repurposing of an existing player.

Against the good sides it's evident his legs have gone, against the weaker sides he able to get away with moving less and rely moving the ball around.

Moyes should phase him out sooner rather than later to avoid him being embarrassed.

Great servant, Canning Town boy but him getting caught in possession in slow motion last night would be laughed at on Hackney Marshes.
