That doesn't exactly add up to a convincing case to sign him, does it?
It's because that isnt true

when moyes took the job he must have asked if he could sign new players in the January window, the time he has spent out he should know who he wants to improve us, or was he told no one else wants you so we will get the players you pick the team and take the blame if it does not work out, or is it players don't want to come to us?

I think Randolph is a poor signing but it's done now. Which striker and central midfielder are we signing?

While not enamoured, I can’t complain about the randolph move too much. Is he better than Martin and Roberto my instinct is yes.

Now I reserve the ability to moan about it after the fact because the only reason this makes sense to me right now is that no funds have been used. As such a CM absolutely must be brought in over the next two weeks. If that fails to occur then this signing must be looked at in a different light.

I’m hoping for a move for some Championship players that want to come here, work and improve. Like we had with Cresswell, Antonio etc

Been out the past few days (roughly 30 pages). Any credible links to a CM and ST, other than Joe Allen?

In fact, are there any credible links to any players at all?! Seems really quiet at the moment

Give them a chance, sifting through the list of out of contract players requires time and diligence.

Depends what credible is.... but not really. Rumors that we want Kessie but will lose out to Arsenal, Rumors we were offered Karl Toko Ekambi by his agent.

Very quiet, which could mean we have not much going on, or.... we actually learned from the past 2 years that the transfers we don't leak to the press immediately are the few that actually happen.

To be fair I’d be raging if we’d just spent 20m on Butland.

The manager (or DOF, often better than a manager) identifies a player role that is needed, the board gives the budget, then the scouting and analytics department is able to provide a list of players who fit the role at various ages and estimated price points within the budget, the associated data, scouting reports and video from their ongoing scouting operations, the DOF or manager then uses this to select and order their targets, negotiations are opened with clubs and player, and finalized deals are taken into account when budgeting for the next role.
Spot on Cellar. A world away from out set up and I suspect always will be under this lot. Even if, and when we learn the hard way just how bad it can get when you refuse to even see the need, let alone get your recruitment and thus recruitment set up, right.

Agree on this. Butland is just not that good.

Keepers can play much longer than field players, and Fab is among the best in the world, that means what we needed now was the best fill-in we could find for this season. If the need changes to a true replacement for Fab earlier than expected, then I'd expect a move.

We also have a bunch of highly regarded U-23 keepers in Trott and Anang as well as Heygi who is farther away. Wouldn't be surprised to see us make a run at a younger keeper this summer perhaps, but for now, the key for backup keeper was.... is reliable, can slot in now, won't take an international slot, and won't blow the full budget. Randolph fits those 4 just fine.

Sounds promising - many caps for Austria and only 23. Hope we aren’t just being used to attract other buyers!

Being rumoured in France that Marseille and Napoli are interested in Masuaku.

Also, another report that we have offered a loan deal for Lozaro : https://m.fcinternews.it/in-primo-piano ... QGfOP2DUh4

For the benefit of any Marseilles and Napoli fans and/or agents taking a sneaky look at this forum to gauge support or WHU fans feelings whether they should sign him. I'd be absolutely gutted if he leaves, fantastic player

Surely we need to sign at least one midfielder and striker, maybe even two?
