Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
The squad today should frighten the hell out of our manager/owners. Desperately need some new players.
Just to stand a chance of staying up.

 Brilliant. Made me laugh out loud.
I had been wondering why Shane Duffy has his barber at the game. Made me think of the old joke of the barber rushing on with his bag of tricks when a player has headed the ball. Remember seeing it on some sketch show years ago - possibly Harry Enfield.

Duffy? A CB isn't a priority at all for me. Diop and Ogbonna are decent, Balbuena I'm not a fan of, but he's about ok. Even Reid was on the bench today and Cresswell can play there when we go to a back 3. Our only fit RB is Zaba and even though his last few performances have been decent, we can't keep playing him Weekend and midweek.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
Probably wouldn’t happen in this window, but I would be more than happy with Isaac Hayden as one of our squad options. Wants to come to London and would probably cost £10-15m. Would much prefer him to Joe Allen.
Bringing in someone like Hayden and then a midfielder like Sangare, Berge, Kessie etc. would completely transform our midfield.
Need to get at least one now, and then one in the summer. Honestly Lanzini might be one of the players I would look to sell to fund these players.

Have massively supported him this season but today was the day when i switched to the view that I’d sacrifice Lanzini for funds.
Today was completely winnable if we’d actually improved the squad where it was needed this window.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
A boon would be a player who can play as a defender and a full back. I think Gary Neville would do it occasionally, while Lescott was excellent at both left back and in central defense.il_martello_di_genovesi wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 7:52 pm Duffy? The balance of the squad also depends on the manager's footballing philosophyhammer1975 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 8:04 pm Have massively supported him this season but today was the day when i switched to the view that I’d sacrifice Lanzini for funds.

Lanzini, Fornals, Snodgrass are more than capable of playing a quick passing game.
Now these players are told to go vertical, and even Lanzini needs to win headers
If someone needs to go, I'd say Yarmolenko.
Also Sanchez and Wilshere before we let Lanzini go.

How much realistically would you pay for Lanzini?
Looks like his best days are past and the injuries have took their toll.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
I think he's been bang average for years. Had a decent spell when Payet was here, but always been lazy, can't pass for ****, dives, no power in shots or crosses. He's decent in tight areas but then it breaks down.
Worryingly, Moyes seems to rate him over Fornals.

Some of our players who are looking a bit off the pace here would probably do a good job out in Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Portugal etc. The Premier League has it's own character.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
Ask Slav if he fancies Lanzini for half a season, see if he can regain some form with the fellah who brought him here. Get Diangana back.
I'm repeating myself I know.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
I was as pro Pellergrini as the next man but you can literally hear Moyes shouting on the touchline for the players to move the ball quickly and be brave on the ball. At one point he was even calling out which players were free to pass to.
Their confidence is shot and it was shot a long time ago.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
Shane Duffy? Love a link to a CB who lost his place at Brighton because he was too slow and couldn't pass.
Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
I wouldn’t pay more than 6 or 7 for him. He’s finished in the PL now.
West Ham are becoming the new Arsenal, by holding onto too many average players who have done little to nothing for the club over an extended period of time.

Be interesting to see how Duda gets on at Norwich was good in the Bundesliga last season. Would've score today if Cook hadn't shown he'd be a better back up keeper than Roberto

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
I must say that the collapse of Lanzini's form has been very sad. Although since he is still coining it and getting games, he probably isn't too fussed.
