Ashley has never been averse to shelling out in January.
From memory they spent £40m the year Shelvey joined them. And Almiron was a Jan purchase last season.

Wildly, wildly disagree. His defensive work last year looks ideal.

Our recall clause had to be activated in the first 2 weeks didn’t it? Don’t think he can come back now.

On the Easy Jet flight a stewardess threw a bag of Patatas Fritas to Roberto who missed them completely and they took out a pensioner in the row behind, so just be gutted for that poor pensioner

It could be Bruce put a bit of pressure on him maybePuff Daddy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 3:09 pm How come Ashley, who is also notoriously a tight arse, has suddenly, out of nowhere, got a few bob in his pocket, yet Gold and Sullivan are still paupers ?

That's the worry, 3 weeks in, and we haven't even agreed a fee for an outfield player.

Speaking of Newcastle and Shelvey, my mate bought a skillet pan from the ironmonger who makes Jonjo Shelvey's boutique cast-iron cookware. Apparently, it's a done deal that he's coming here.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
Not sure how people want to gamble and not sign anyone. Everton were **** at the Weekend and we couldn't beat them. We didn't have the quality, creativity or goals in the side. Same at Sheff Utd. We've played ok in both games without having that bit extra to to get the points. At the end of the day playing ok, but not getting 3 points will see us relegated.
Lanzini and Haller are not providing us with the creativity or goals and we don't have that bit of energy or drive in central midfield either.
Newcastle are on 29 points and want to make sure they keep themselves as far away from 18th as possible. We sit on 23 and want to risk 3 teams being worse than us...and even then, one of those 3 teams are signing players to try and get themselves out of it also.
