Not sure if this is the right place but interesting fact

The last 6 games we have started with 4 different goalkeepers the same as from, I think, 1973 - 1988 when we started with 4 goalkeepers.

99/00 season we had keeper starters in Hislop, Forrest, Bywater, Feuer and Ilic......5 goalkeepers in a season! Mind you, that season was so much more fun than this one

Moyes probably knows that criticising his squad, however justified, will only serve to demoralise his players. Sullivan won't open his wallet all of a sudden because Moyes tells the press we are short of quality all over the park.

We only signed Randolph because Boro owed us money. That alone should be enough to tell people to lower their expectations.

This is why we need a scouting team at West Ham

It's the only hope we have as we won't spend any money

(p.s. I'm not supporting a recall, but can see why people are)

But if we don't recall him how are people going to be able to suggest he's nowhere near prem quality....??

We've got his entire career body of work with which to assert that claim.

The argument should actually be made at some point, that whilst our home-grown talent are possibly not Premier League standard, it's become more and more clear, that the International scouting team are bringing in players who are also ill-equipped to step up to that level.

Time and again, we have seen expensive International players brought in, who seemingly have the quality to succeed at this level, but inevitably we always go back to recalling the likes of Noble, Snodgrass, Martin and Cresswell.

I'm not saying that any of our young players will go onto have glittering careers in the top flight, but this shouldn't be about that. This should be about the comparison between who they are replacing. It would be interesting to see how many fewer points we would have garnered this year if we had had the following in the squad instead:-

Trott - Martin
Cullen - Wilshere
Coventry - Sanchez
Holland - Yarmolenko
Hugill - Ajeti

The Standard say we've been offered the chance to sign Kessie... can't really see anything that really backs that up in the article though

Just a reminder of how bad our squad is.. despite sending a GK out on loan, we still have more GK’s at the club than natural strikers.

If the Standard are reporting Kessie, it's got to have some legs. They're about the most reliable news source for West Ham news, in my opinion.

As for Cullen, I actually find it incredulous we've not recalled him given our current dearth of CM options. I can only presume the management are 100% convinced he's out of his depth at PL level.

The point with Cullen is:

Is he good enough? Maybe not, most likely not, but the alternatives at the club are not and near £10m on Allen isn’t a good investment. I’d rather have Cullen than Sanchez, and certainly rather than the no midfielders on the bench at the weekend.

It’s not comparing him to Premier League standard, it’s comparing him with our standard.

Kessie is exactly the type of CM we need, imo,he is strong, quick and could form a formidable partnership with Rice and for a box to box CMF he does love a bit of wing action!
Our scouting, under Pellegrini consisted of his mate Carsi (toilet, apparently)Pellegrini Jnr and Husillos Jnr and a couple of others.

From the few times I've seen him play, I thought he was average, offers very little, and the games I have seen, seem to pass him by.
