Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
I would rather we had a solid core of British players anyway. And Moyes has a good record of promoting youth and developing players, sourced both at home and abroad, so I do not see how that would be a stumbling block.
I know he is extremely unfashionable, but he does work for the SFA and UEFA, so he is actually respected in coaching circles.

Just imagine Moses just about to board the airplane to Italy when his agent phones him with the news that West Ham have made a late bidWestHamIFC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 6:15 pm Yep would have liked him back. Can play cover all positions down the right-hand side - surely a better option than the knackered Zabaleta!
Conte is obviously a big fan, was a massive part of his title-winning system @ Chelsea after he returned from his loan here.

I was going to say it is not easy to be a Champions League technical adviser at UEFA - but then I noticed Gareth Southgate had also did the job this season!

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
We're desperate for the bounce of new players. I remember at least twice when things changed.
1. Dicks to Liverpool and we got Burrows, Marsh and Chapman.
2. The year we got Hartson/Kitson.
Come on West Ham. Sort it out.

Add Lee Roy to that list. And he was the equivalent of a championship player back then.

Imagine Haller and Anderson in the championship on half pay.
That's quite satisfying.....except their agents are already planning for their next move.

Also they would never have signed deals with that clause, just like nobody will sign it now. It's a sneaky way to ensure you can say that you made bids or even had a bid accepted since you know nobody will sign that.Hugh Jargon II wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 7:00 pm Imagine Haller and Anderson in the championship on half pay.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
Then we should focus on up and coming players from the championship who would still be on better wages after a 50% drop.Hammer in Hornchurch wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 6:12 pm Just watched that video.
The key point is that players don’t want to sign for us due to the 50% wage drop upon relegation, which where we are currently placed it looking quiet likely.
So we can’t attract the players we need.
Basically we are screwed.
Tbh it's all a bit same old same old isn't it?
We tried really hard...we worked tirelessly...we had this superstar lined up but got gazumped at the last minute...we didn't want to risk the future of the clubs finances...my kids begged me not to sign em...

Hartson and Kitson transformed that season

We also signed Steve Lomas in the March of that year - before the transfer window came in - and he played a crucial part along with those two, along with Rio and Fat Frank emerging as well that winter iirc.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
The narrative being spun by boards lickspittle claret and hugh and ex west ham employee . I hold these apologists in lower esteem than the board themslves is that sullivan and gold are paupers. Yes compared to some owners they arent wealthy but between them they are worth 1.5 billion look up times rich list. They could afford to inject some capital into club and buy a couple of players . They choose not to
