Re: West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion: FAC4R Match Thread
It will be typical of this team that we finally turn it on and convincingly win a game against lower league opponents in the cup, what with everything else seemingly so bleak, but I just cannot see how we can this weekend.
Not sure who to expect, but giving Reid a game is a recipe for disaster; he surely needs minutes here and there and not being thrown in at the deep end.
The youngsters most likely to be useful are earning a loan fee elsewhere, for us.
Ben Johnson is either injured or only just back from the latest.
Looking at WBA, I can see at least 2 of them (Slav and Austin) who have the motivation to come and beat us. But then again, the whole lot of them will be targeting this game as the one that got back on track their winning spirit, for promotion.
Whoever is going, I hope I am wrong.

Regardless of whether it's kids for a quid, the supporters who have paid money and who will give up their time to attend deserve to see a game of football between two full strength teams.
It shouldn't matter that the Baggies are pushing for top flight status, or that we are desperately and pathetically trying to retain ours, this is a competition we have won a few times in happier days and much of our history is wrapped up within this cup.
Or putting it another way, the FA cup is the only chance we have of rescuing another rubbish season at the bowl of disappointment.

Their line up will be further from their first team than ours simply because they have more senior players fit to choose from and the Championship is a punishing league, especially when you are going through a bad patch
I think the team will be similar to that which Bubbles suggested. I have no issue with a couple of kids playing for us as we may then unearth someone who can help us out in the league. Diagana came to prominence in the Macclesfield game for example. If you never play them, then you can't assess what they are like.
No more than two of them though with the rest senior first team squad pros

I hope West Ham fans don't chant Slavs name.
I loved him when he was here, but.. please don't.

Re: West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion: FAC4R Match Thread
Fella has been stealing a living for us for the best part of his time here. Consistently slows any momentum down, constantly plays backwards or sideways, does just enough to convince everyone he’s a premiership defender.
Turned it on for a handful of games when his contact extension came up though and now he’s got another 3 years.
Hanger-on of a player. As I’ve said before he’s the bloke in the office who does just enough to keep his job, but you’ll never see him put his hand up to help.
I actually despise him as a footballer. Primarily because he’s actually a very good one but he blatantly doesn’t need to be for us. Harsh but honestly true.

I can't see anything other than the West Brom reserves turning up like in the last round.
They haven't won since our Diangana got injured the first time.
Randolph
Ngakia Diop Ogbonna Cresswell
Fornals Rice
Rosa
Antonio Ajeti Masuaku

A bit of rotation required.
3-5-2: Randolph; Diop, Balbuena, Reid; Antonio, Fornals, Sanchez, Noble, Masuaku; Haller, Ajeti.
Subs: Martin, Cardoso, Cresswell, Zabaleta, Rice, Lanzini, Ngakia.
Sub Antonio for Zab after an hour.

Half the crowd will be at their first match of the season, I wouldn’t worry about chanting

Why not?
Slav understands the club and understands the fans, which is more than can be said of those ****ers upstairs.

I know that many of us don't like Moyes, but would you not find it a bit embarrassing, chanting an opposition manager's name?
As I said, I love Slav for THAT season, but I don't think we should be chanting his name.

Snodgrass was injured on Wednesday and I'm not sure that Haller is doing anywhere near enough to be deemed undroppable.
On Wednesday his pass accuracy was 41% at half time and he had been the most dispossesed player in our team. Maiga levels of competence.

Re: West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion: FAC4R Match Thread
full strength team out if possible. we must take it seriously. we are going down as it stands with this bunch of strollers. unless sully buys a few players this last week we are doomed so lets give the cup a go. get through this and who knows a nice home draw against the lowest ranked team left to give us a chance.
I would take a Wembley day out and relegation
Snodgrass is injured and noble knackered. we should rest rice as he looked weary on weds but we cant as we sent Coventry on loan and I don't want sanchez anywhere near the team.
as for SLAV love him and will chant his name.

I don't mind Moyes but I'm still a massive fan of Bilic, he gave me one of my greatest seasons supporting the club and for that I will always be thankful. Plus in my view he was unfairly treated by the owners and probably some supporters too so any chance to get back at them is good for me

Re: West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion: FAC4R Match Thread
Moyes really needs to find his best 11 and get them playing as a team and fast. I would make a few changes for this game just to freshen up in areas. I think for example Zaba, Noble and Snodgrass will struggle to play 4 games in 10 days, this is probably an opportunity to rotate them plus they've hardly been great assets to the team recently.
Randolph
Diop Balbuena Ogbonna
Antonio Rice Sanchez Fornals Masuaku
Haller Ajeti
