they're in the bottom three and he's got four goals to his name all season.

certainly seems gettable at least.

8 goals in 17 in the Czech league, 2 goals in 6 in the Champions League. Unusual stats for a defensive midfielder!

He must have very big veins

He will fit in well with Haller, West Ham traditionally don’t like going for players who can score 20 goals a season

West Ham plotting move for Slavia Prague midfielder Tomas Soucek

The Hammers are desperate to bolster their options in midfield and have identified the Czech international as a potential signing

By Sam Inkersole

West Ham are exploring a deal to sign midfielder Tomas Soucek from Slavia Prague, football.london understands.

The 24-year-old midfielder is valued at around €25m by his club but the Hammers have been told they could get him for half that if a deal can be struck. They are confident they can agree an initial loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the campaign but nothing has been agreed yet.

Soucek has scored ten goals so far this season, eight in the Fortuna Liga, for Prague and plays effectively as a number six or eight in the midfield so could slot in alongside Declan Rice.

Soucek has picked up 25 caps for his country

West Ham are desperate for a new midfielder this window and have been linked with a host of them so far as they bid to battle against the drop. A move for Genk midfielder Sander Berge is unlikely, football.london understands.

The club also holds interest in Franck Kessie of AC Milan and Joe Allen of Stoke City but the latter would be a last resort.

With just a week of the transfer window remaining, the Hammers need to get a move on if they want to bolster the squad having only signed Darren Randolph so far this window as a backup goalkeeper from Middlesbrough for £4m.

The club is currently struggling to attract players, with football.london understanding that two players this summer have rejected the club's advances as they don't want to be involved in a relegation battle.

Another move has also fallen through with the selling club wanting a permanent option included in a loan deal even if the Hammers were relegatedat the end of the season.

https://www.football.london/west-ham-un ... a-17623954
…. and thereby lies the problem and the reason we won't sign anybody and who can blame them? A problem caused by Pellegrini and The Daves, not taking action sooner. Now Sully knows we're done unless he does something drastic and he also knows the financial ramifications, notably to his bank balance in the inevitability
of relegation, so now it is panic stations

The Czech league is a funny standard.
I went to a Sparta Prague game one season and watched them struggle at home in a three-quarters empty stadium against a newly-promoted club (first time in top flight). They needed a dubious penalty to rescue a point.
The quality of football was pretty poor - I couldn't believe this was the same club that had reached the Champions League knockout stages the season before.

Could he be an aerial threat from corners, or a penalty taker?

Burnley Hammer wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2020 11:35 am Quite possible that we have no interest in Guirassy at all and it's just his agent trying to get him a move. He's been linked with Leicester and Aston Villa in the last few days too.

4 goals this season, unless ligue 1 started this week i am guessing that juergen isn't using his amazon prime to fast track some highlights of Amiens matches. Maybe he will be lucky and get a whole match where their chairmain Davide S'Livan released a dvd of their 5-0 drubbing of their huge rivals sporting Dieppe.

Every year around this time we see about ten players linked to us and we all start to think maybe we will get someone.

This is all done by Sully to make us think they are leaving no stone unturned and will tell us exactly that on 31st January when we sign f*** all.

Even Moyes swallows their lies.

A good player is a good player, doesn't matter who they're playing for or that teams position in the league.

If we go down there will be vultures circling for many of our players, who upon leaving will go on to look brilliant elsewhere.
Macca1973 wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2020 11:27 amNothing, it's the fact we're asking sh*t clubs like Amiens to lend us their bang average players because we're too tight to spend any money!
Ignoring the fact that he might be a good player, wouldn't it be preferable to have him on loan rather than buy him outright and have a deadweight player if he fails to perform?

Dunno why everyone is getting so angry at a loan for a relatively young player on a preferable type of deal.

Be angry at what we aren't doing transfer wise. Not at what we are.

We should be seriously looking at Danny Rose. Contract ends next season and Spurs want him gone. Might be 29 but he's 20 times the players we have there right now.

Guirassy's agent is..... you guessed it, Willie McKay..

Didn't the man himself admit to linking Emiliano Sala with West Ham, in order to pressure Cardiff to complete the signing quicker?

Nothing to see here.

traxop wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2020 11:07 am As much as we could do with a RB and another forward. The issue of the midfield has come to the boil for me, and I just get irrationally angry every time we are linked to another player who is not a midfielder. We could sign the new Messi and he would still be rendered ineffective by our current midfield. It's such a bugbear for me that anything short of a midfielder(the correct type of midfielder) this window will be considered a failure.
It was so in the Summer and most people knew solving that problem (black hole) would have a big effect on our season, the only real argument seemed to be over the exact nature of that player. How big a problem it would cause in not doing so is the only arguable shock since.

Randall is this years Hughill.

Fabianski will come back and we will send him out on loan, never to be seen again.

We will get to the deadline with no one signed. They will wheel Wilshere out for one game to pretend the injury situation is improving, before he will dissapear injured again just after the window

All so predictable

Is there a goal machine at Wycombe Wanderers having a lean spell I wonder.

He'd take up one of our 2 loan spots and as I already said he's a 1 in 5 striker over his entire career. He might turn out to be the next Henry but with his current 4 in 12 in a weaker League he doesn't seem to tick the "ready now" box.

So I am underwhelmed that, if true, we're prepared to use up a loan space on an unproven striker who has a less than inspiring goal scoring record over a number of years.

I don't get angry anymore, I refuse to let GSB do that to me.
