Nene didn’t do much for us but Big Sam seemed reluctant to really give him a chance.CentenaryUpperHammer wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 4:52 pm I think that was Ilan vs Everton wasn't it? The diving header?
Don't particularly remember Nene playing much?
At least we know now who signed him...
Ilan was a half decent poacher who should really have been given another season, was twice the player of Piquionne who we replaced him with and got relegated with him up front.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
If this czech guy is good at both defending and attacking corners then that's a big plus. We're a bit rubbish at both at the moment. We've also missed that aerial presence in midfield since kouyate left.
Now all we need is a pacy striker that can stretch a defence. As I mentioned on one of the other threads today, I think lanzini and fornals would be far more effective if we had a striker with a bit of pace that could stretch a defence.
By the way, someone asked earlier if we had any decent u23 strikers. Apparently Silva is now back from his long term injury according to ex.

Have to give it to IB, he’s all over this forum at the briefest mention of Auntie Moyes.
The kind of all-action combative approach davey could do with in the centre midfield.
Marouane is that you?

I wouldn't be surprised to see a RB and 2 CMs tbh...
It's like that window with Avram where they went in for Keane, Bridge, Ba, O'Neil...as it eventually dawned on them how bad things were.

I got excited when I saw Arsenal were beating Bournemouth, until I realized it was the FA Cup...

4) The Czech bounces.steveyrockstar wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:24 pm Three scenarios:
1) He's not good enough or suited to PL football, or takes too long to adjust. Outcome: we sign him.
2) He's actually very good (as reports now suggesting). Outcome: he rejects us for a better club.
3) He's actually very good and for some bizarre mystery, he is happy to come. Outcome: we don't bid enough, deal breaksdown
....... I’ll get my coat !

Well, if we lose to Brighton, we'll most likely have 11 games to get about 17 points (assuming playing Liverpool twice and Man City away runs to form)

Unfortunately we know how uncle Avram's season ended. Thing's always dawn on our board a little too late.bubbles1966 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:34 pm Well, if we lose to Brighton, we'll most likely have 11 games to get about 17 points (assuming playing Liverpool twice and Man City away runs to form)
Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Walker-Peters the bloke that Poch. refused to play even when they had all those injuries a couple of months back? Poch would rather use others out of position than to play him?il_martello_di_genovesi wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 4:18 pm So Jacob Steinberg/The Guardian have us in for Soucek and a loan deal for Walker-Peters? I can't see Tottenham loaning us anyone and from what I've seen of him I don't think he's particuarly much good yet.

Aonther little analysis from a Czech expert on Twitter
I shouldn't big him up too much.... it'll be all the more disappointing when he signs for someone else
Edit: Beaten to it for the second time tonight! I need to type faster

We were doing ok after we spanked stoke 3-0 , then we didn't win in our final 7-8 games !
