Listen to yourself, Gabriel Jesus Christ man, Sterlng gash for weeks? You lot used to worship Kinkladze and Goater and here you are saying that genuine World Class players are gash if they're not having 8 or 9's out of 10 each and every week. 11 and a half years ago I knew I was going to hate Man City. Both West Ham and Man City are terribly run clubs, just completely different versions of terrible, I wish there was a way we could both lose.TheKippaxYears wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2020 4:33 pm Sterling out is not frankly very good for you. He's been gash for weeks, not only in my view, but in the view of many other City supporters. Only Pep seems to be seeing something that none of us are.
Meanwhile, we've got Gabriel Jesus warming his backside on the bench most of the time. He works his socks off, and he's in terrific form this season. There's a theory that Pep won't play Jesus and Aguero up front, because they ‘don't work’ together. That is bs and I call it as such. If there's a front line of Aguero, Jesus and Mahrez, well, look out…

city always start strong and score early goals. so we need to be ready for the onslaught. first 20 mins are crucial go 1 or 2 down early doors and its a long afternoon and an almost certain heavy defeat. frustrate and hope to catch on the break and maybe we will surprise them.
not a game for haller, I think moyes will drop him
not a game for lanzini and again I think moyes will drop him.
not a game for noble but I expect moyes to start him.
city 5 hammers 0 and onto scouseland for the next stuffing.
This lot talk a good story but rarely deliver. we were lucky to draw in the end against brighton who would have won it 4-3 had it not been for fab. another 5 mins and we would have conceded again.
moyes has produced a good win against Bournemouth and a scrappy win away to Gillingham. the rest has been so poor. yet some think we will get something from man city who somehow lost at spurs ! they will take their chances against us and batter us senseless. could be anything with a minimum of 5 going in the net.
when do we sack moyes ?

------------------Fabianski
-----Balbuena----Ogbonna----Cresswell
Fredericks--------Rice------Soucek-------Anderson
--------------------Fornals
-------Bowen---------------Antonio
I think that this is the best we can come up with at the moment.
We have to play a low line, because we simply cannot allow City in behind us; they will have a field day.
Fornals has to sit on their DM and hassle and harry him from 1st to last minute
Rice has a knack of choosing a longer pass, when that and a closer one are on. We will spend most of the game out of possession, in our own half, but his passing and movement could be key.
Finally, we have got to do what Palace do to them, which is to match them in physicality. If we turn up and let them play, it will be a massacre.
We have passed the point where we can say that 'there's always next week'; we need to be looking to secure at least a point per away game. Better to go down battered and bruised from the effort of staying up.
Charge!

Zab (big game against his old club)
Reid (fully fit and something different)
Balbuena (need his leadership)
Masuaku (for pace)
Snodgrass
Sanchez (keep it solid)
Noble (keep it solid)
Rice (keep it solid)
Lanzini
Soucek (false 9)
Bench: Martin, Cresswell, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Wilshere, Snodgrass
Haller and Fornals deserve to be dropped entirely from the squad after their abject lack of effort in recent weeks / months.
If Wilshere is struggling with fitness perhaps get Ajeti on the bench as I think there is a player in there somewhere.

I'll smoke whatever you're smoking. Reid hasn't played a competitive game for how many months? If a wildcard needs to be played surely Bowen for Lanzini who has been utter ***** against far inferior teams?

No chance bowen will be ready. Not even sure he's good enough - championship player.
No, we need to keep it tight and play for corners.

Fair enough, though I would put a bag of cement in rather than Sanchez!

Ah, right. I must have misread that. Cheers.
That's not to say I endorse the idea of him playing at The Etihad!

Hope for the best, expect the worst. That's all I can say really.

Haven't quite followed the injury news but this is my squad, if all are fit
Fab
Fredericks Diop Ogbonna Cress
Soucek Rice Fornals
Bowen Haller Antonio
Bring Anderson on for Antonio or Fornals if he's healthy.

Bowen will surely play. You do not go through all that to sign a player, and then leave them in the bench after a week on the training pitch.
Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham United: Match thread (09/02)
I tend to agree, the clubs are at different ends of the spectrum, but both are symptomatic of the insentient sky era of moneyball.

Did Smonnie just suggest we play our new defensive midfielder in a false 9? Amazing.
