I confused personally. I get they are following 'The Science' but how is our 'science' so different to other developed countries. Are we the only ones getting this right? I hope so but I cannot see it.
Nothing to do with Science - we've got God on our side .
p.s. Don't forget to paint a cross in lamb's blood on your front door before you go to bed - two crosses if you've got an old person living with you .
This is the lesser known 11th Plague Of Egypt which kills off the Old [ they got the young with the 10th ] .

The way im looming at it, is comparing us to italy...
We both had infections on the same first day... we now only have 500 odd... with a fatality rate of 2% roughly so far... their bordering on 7%...
Your “right”, imho, is having still enough ICU beds available. Mortality rate here in Italy is way lower in other regions, but Lombardy, who quickly has filled almost all their ICU beds and is skewing the percentages. Your government is putting all of you at huge peril.
Just seen a video online recorded in the states, with the caption, "college cancelled class to avoid large gatherings" the video is of hundreds maybe thousands of kids having a street party..
I think everything they said sounds very sensible. They expect the peak to be in around 10-14 weeks, asking people to not do anything for that length of time just won't work
If i heard it correct they also said they estimate 5,000 - 10,000 people have it so far in the UK? If the same applies to italy that means around 150,000-300,000 have it so far with a death rate of 0.6 - 1.2%

Agreed mate
Yet reading some comments you'd think he was going against scientific and medical advice and trying to kill as many people as possible
We're in the **** here, its going to get worse, no amount of whinging and getting political is going to avoid that

it mutates relatively rapidly apparently, so it's unlikely.
There was a medical expert on the beeb this afternoon who said the complete opposite to this. It has shown to be extremely stable to this point and its unlikely to will catch it again.
The CSO on with Boris said we want people to get it to build up immunity in the community.

Not the point I was making (if it was aimed at me). My question is, why in the UK is cancelling sporting events, closing (at least some) schools etc a bad idea (and the CSO explained it clearly why it was) but in other countries with similar (or lower) infections/deaths than us it is a good idea scientifically. Ireland in particular and their direction is puzzling.
I'm not saying our people are wrong, I hope they are right but the difference does warrant discussion.

my "source" is a medical doctor working and living in milan.
although she did add that most knowledge we have on long term developements about the thing is quite unreliable yet.
apparently, cases in brazil were already different from european cases, but i can't really remember or find the source so i'll put a bag of salt over it.
Patrick Vallance, Britain's chief scientific adviser, speaking in Downing Street:
"One person in a 70,000-seater stadium is not going to infect the stadium. They will infect potentially a few people they have got very close contact with"
Who'll go home and infect 10 more people, who in turn will affect............................and on and on
This is the government medical advisor, he'll say anything they want him to say !
