Schools in Wales and Scotland are closing Friday and probably won’t open again until after the summer holidays :arry:

Re: Coronavirus
From April 2015 - Bill Gates wasn't the only one. Once all this blows over, we should be asking governments and big industry, you knew it was coming why didn't you do more.

Re: Coronavirus
They will. For the most part.
Certain key schools have been identified that will open for the children of emergency service personnel.
It's dreadful, it really is. Having to have the kids at home for half term was enough.

What about all the £60 fines for missing a days school to go on holiday?

Re: Coronavirus
Honestly, it's mid March, and we're talking about having ALL schools closed for 6 months?
This is ****ing ridiculous and unsustainable.
The economy will be in utter ruins at this rate.

I'm really unsure that I got myself enough alcohol in for this outcome. Wonder if I can get away with self isolating in the bedroom.

Re: Coronavirus
Ok on a selfish note i could use some advice. We booked to go away to Menorca 12th June, for once I did the smart thing and bought insurance at the time so its not subject to the coronavirus clauses. The balance is due this week, I am pretty certain we aren't going to get there, so do I cancel it now and pay the £50 fee or leave it just in case and hope the travel company, airline and insurance co don't all go bust?

Re: Coronavirus
We had New York booked for June 18th. Already cancelled it and got most of my money back. I would love to be proven wrong, but I can't see much happening by then, sadly.SammyLeeWasOffside wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 1:55 pm Ok on a selfish note i could use some advice. Even if we can go, I reckon we'll need the cash given what's happening.

Only problem is flights were done separately and are non refundable. Might have to just keep our fingers crossed the insurers don't go bang and pay on the credit card for a bit extra security.

Re: Coronavirus
My cousin is a nurse in our local hospital. Shes been doing 15hr shifts already (& we technically dont have ANY Coronavirus cases in our county  ). She called in Tesco for a few bits last night and there is NOTHING there. I've just taken her 3 bog rolls and some basic food bits to see her through til she finds somewhere the A-holes haven't ransacked.
Theres no need for this, the panic buyers aren't going away though, the staff in Tesco say it's there seeing the same people buying the same **** coming in day after day!!

We've been told an email will arrive on Wednesday about how they intend to go forward with the course which still has nearly 3 months to run .

Re: Coronavirus
it's counter intuitive, but just give a small percentage of the alcohol to the kids...SammyLeeWasOffside wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 1:49 pm I'm really unsure that I got myself enough alcohol in for this outcome. Wonder if I can get away with self isolating in the bedroom.
