For all the stick he gets, I think Sterling is fantastic, and Grealish is top quality.

I’ve got an uncle who is obsessed with Sterling, I mean obsessed to the point of pure “I’m your biggest fan Alan” oddball territory - if he had a choice between having a pop on Scarlet Johansen or having a pop at Raheem Sterling, I genuinely think he’d chose dry slapping Raheem than dry humping Scarlet. Unless he could chose Lewis Hamilton instead.

Flip side: He’s probably the biggest supporter of the England national side I know. Took me to the games at Italia 90 before he went weird and unpleasant, but he is still fanatical about England doing well. He's unflinchingly supportive of following our national team still. He was there today.

People like him must be close to self combusting the longer this tournament goes on and Sterling owns the thing... and the things he’s posted on social media in the past about the fella? Not the sort of opinions you can erase.

Good ain’t it. These lads are a microcosm of the London I grew up in.

I find this really interesting. England let themselves get caught on the break twice, other than that they won the game in 2nd gear.

The thing about him is he seems to make, and miss, so many chances. I can see how that must be frustrating. But does he get enough credit for making these chances on the first place? I think not.
